Kendra Wilkinson's past is a lot darker than anyone ever knew.

"When I was a teenager, I battled some severe depression," Wilkinson, 30, told her therapist, Dr. Monica Shahbaznia, in the video obtained by People. "I attempted suicide a couple times. I went to a mental institution... drugs, overdosing, slitting wrists, all that stuff."
Shahbaznia then placed some of the blame on Wilkinson's primary caregivers because if one is not provided "safety and protection," he or she's ability to "bond with somebody else" is negatively impacted.
The doctor's words rang true for Wilkinson, who apparently had a tough upbringing as a child.
"I was left on my own," the reality TV star confessed while trying not to cry. "I was a young f-cking girl. All I wanted was for my mom to say, 'I love you, and I'm here for you.' I never got that."
Wilkinson -- a former Playboy Bunny, The Girls Next Door star and Dancing with the Stars contestant -- recently called her mother Patti "sadistic," according to People.
"I feel like I'm being raped every minute with my mom," she reportedly told her aunt on Kendra on Top of the emotional abuse she endured.
Wilkinson also discussed her damaged relationship with Patti on Season 3 of Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars, which aired this past summer.
Kendra on Top airs Friday nights at 9PM ET/PT on WEtv.
