"Kendra was devastated," a source told People amid reports the reality TV star is unhappy in her marriage and planning to file for divorce from Hank.
"At first she was just confused and had a lot of questions and went through an extreme roller-coaster of emotions. It didn't matter who it was."
The source continued, "All that mattered was that he was unfaithful to her and to their family. [Kendra] was totally blindsided and she never thought in a million years Hank could make a decision that would hurt her so deeply."
Kendra, 32, and Hank, 35, have been married for nine years and, in addition to Alijah, they also have an 8-year-old son, Hank IV. However, the couple have been spotted without their wedding rings recently, and they've reportedly been fighting a lot.
Kendra opened up to her fans in February on social media by revealing she and Hank were "having issues" but she didn't want to hurt her husband.
And this past weekend, the former Playboy model alluded to a split by admitting it's now time to love herself again.
An insider close to Kendra said she's having a really tough time, especially over the last three to six months, although she was a "never get a divorce" kind of girl.
"Even though she decided she was going to stand by her man their marriage was definitely forever impacted by his cheating," the source told People.
Kendra reportedly wanted to try to make things work after the cheating scandal because she "truly believes in marriage."
"She didn't just stay with him for the kids," the source noted. "[She] wanted to make it work at the time and believed they could get through it and come out stronger. He swore and promised full transparency with her. He allowed her access to his phone, his emails and also promised to go to therapy."
Hank previously admitted to the magazine he had "messed up" and his betrayal was triggered by drug use.

"I put myself in a bad situation. And everything through me brought pain upon this family," he had said.
The insider close to Kendra explained that the mom of two wanted to be married forever and be fully committed to her husband.
"But she really lost trust in her marriage and she's realized there's no turning back," the insider told People, adding that Kendra and Hank grew further apart while she starred in an Off-Broadway comedy, Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man, in Las Vegas.
Despite the dark clouds hovering over the pair -- who attempted to work out their marital problems on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars -- Kendra and Hank are reportedly focusing on their children right now.
"They're still talking, but it's mostly for the kids," the insider disclosed. "It's really important to both of them that they don't traumatize the kids. They're going to try their best to have a graceful separation."
Kendra found fame by starring on The Girls Next Door reality series with the late Hugh Hefner. Her latest show, Kendra on Top, just wrapped its sixth season in August 2017, and the series' seventh edition is slated to premiere in June 2018 on WE tv.
