Kim Kardashian reportedly won't allow Kris Jenner to monopolize her wedding plans with fiance Kanye West and it's causing major tension between the mother and daughter.

"Kim doesn't want Kris making all the decisions for the wedding," a source told Us Weekly in its latest issue. "Kim put her foot down, and things got heated."

Jenner, 58, reportedly assumed she'd be taking over Kardashian and West's May 24 wedding plans after she had helped organize both Kardashian's prior extravagant wedding to ex-husband Kris Humphries in 2011 as well as West's over-the-top October proposal at AT&T Park in San Francisco.

However, Kardashian and West want to take care of things themselves, according to Us, prompting minor disagreements that eventually escalated into a full-on fight between Kardashian, 33, and her momager -- who both star on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

"Kim told Kris to back off," explained an insider.

"It wasn't a screaming match, but it was tense. [They] went a few days without even talking. It was chilly between them. Kris is hurt because Kim has always deferred to her, even when she was serious with a guy. Kanye is different."

Kardashian "feels like Kris is always in her business. Kim really wants this to be her and Kanye's day," said the source. "[Kim] became secretive about things when she didn't want Kris involved... Kris wanted bigger in every way. Kanye wants it to be more private."

Jenner reportedly turned to party planner Sharon Sacks for the nuptials immediately following her daughter's engagement and also tried to also get behind the design of Kardashian's wedding gown -- two ideas which were both vetoed by the bride and groom-to-be.

"[Kanye] considers everything he does art," said a Kardashian source.

"So the wedding is an extension of his personality and creative freedom. He doesn't want it to be anything like Kim's other wedding. Kris wanted it to be just like last time. The cake, flowers, the dress. Kris wanted Kim to wear something that would get a lot of press, and she even suggested using Vera Wang again to create some buzz."

And while West, 36, has had his heart set on exchanging vows in Paris, France, "Kris wanted it in L.A. again."

"But Paris was Kanye's choice, and Kim was onboard with whatever he decided," added the Kardashian source.

Kardashian has expressed for months the wedding will be whatever West wants because this marks the first time he's ever gotten married, while Kardashian will be walking down the aisle for the third time.

However, Kardashian isn't writing Jenner off completely in the planning process. Jenner reportedly still has typical duties as the mother of the bride.

"Kim wants her mom to help at dress fittings and run things by her, but ultimately the details are going to be up to her and Kanye," said the insider.
