Kim Myles, a 33-year-old interior designer from New York City, was crowned HGTV Design Star's second-season champ during last night's broadcast of the HGTV reality competition series.

With "more than 900,000" viewer votes cast following last week's penultimate broadcast, Kim bested Todd Davis, a 34-year-old landscape architect from San Francisco, CA, to take home HGTV Design Star 2's title. As the competition's winner, Kim will receive her own HGTV television show and a feature in an upcoming issue of In Style Home magazine.
During HGTV Design Star 2's penultimate episode last Sunday night, Kim and Todd competed in the final "Design Showdown," which saw them each "designing outdated hotel suites into their vision of a tropical paradise." Following the broadcast of the showdown, home viewers were able to vote to determine which of the two remaining finalists deserved their own show, with the results revealed during last night's broadcast.
However before those results were revealed, HGTV Design Star 2's finale broadcast brought back all 11 finalists who originally competed in the show and also aired footage from throughout the season.
In addition, host Clive Pearse revealed Lisa Millard, a 25-year-old from Berwick, PA, was the designer HGTV Design Star 2's cast "would have most liked to have seen more from," and she was awarded a $5,000 Discover gift card.
HGTV Design Star first-season champ David Bromstad then awarded both Kim and Todd their choice of either a Mercury Mariner or Mercury Mariner Hybrid before Pearse revealed Kim had received the most viewer votes and won the competition.
HGTV has already renewed HGTV Design Star for a third season and begun casting. HGTV is expected to premiere Kim's new show in March 2008.
