Kristin Cavallari is grateful for her children after suffering the loss of her brother Michael and injuries from a car accident within two months of each other.

Cavallari and her husband Jay Cutler, quarterback for the NFL's Chicago Bears, welcomed their daughter Saylor, now two-months old, in late November. Saylor arrived just a couple of weeks before her brother's body was found dead in Utah following a thorough missing-person search. Cavallari then got into a car accident when she was hit by another driver in Chicago late last month.
"You know, when tragedies happen and you have little kids, you can't fall apart. I had this teeny tiny baby I had to look after and so... you know, it's been hard," said the former The Hills and Laguna Beach star, who's also a mom to brothers Jaxon Wyatt, 18 months, and Camden Jack, 3.
"I have good days and bad days, but I look at my kids and I'm just so thankful that I have them and that they're all healthy. You know, and I have a great husband and that's what it's about. You have to appreciate everyone when they're in front of you."
Cavallari had a difficult time recovering from her dislocated elbow, which happened during the car crash.
"At first, I could barely even move my hand. I couldn't hold my daughter for the first week which was really tough and my husband had to help me breast feed. So that was really glamorous! I mean, it wasn't very sexy," she explained. "So that was tough, not being able to hold her myself. But now I can."
While Cavallari is currently undergoing physical therapy, she apparently still can't straighten her arm or completely bend it.
"But it'll happen eventually," the reality TV star told E! News optimistically. "And the fact that I'm not in a cast and I have my arm and my kids weren't with me, I'm just so grateful."
Cavallari additionally competed on ABC's thirteenth season of Dancing with the Stars.
