Former MTV star Kristin Cavallari was linked with singer/actress Jessica Simpson's ex-husband, and now she may be taking over Simpson's film role too.

Gerber told People Cavallari, 19, is "at the top of the list" for the young Daisy Duke role.
"I like her innocence and her beauty," he said, adding Simpson, 25, would be too old for a prequel, which will feature a "whole new cast."
People noted Cavallari was linked for a time with Simpson's husband, Nick Lachey, after Simpson and Lachey announced their separation.
