Lamar Odom is still getting a birthday party even though he's in the hospital.

According to a source close to the former NBA star, the little get-together was approved by doctors and is being held in a separate private room at the hospital, where Khloe set up a cake, balloons and party hats.
"It's something very small and very short but will make him feel amazing. Then Khloe will be with him for the rest of the day," the source told People without clarifying how late Khloe will stay with Odom and whether she'll make her way over to her mother Kris Jenner's big 60th birthday party tonight.
But Kris and Kim Kardashian West made an effort to attend Odom's bash as well as two of his best friends and his NBA trainer of 15 years. Khloe also reportedly contacted Odom's former basketball teammates and several Los Angeles Clippers players said they'd try to stop by after practice.
Because the Los Angeles Lakers are on the road, Kobe Bryant allegedly told Khloe he'll send Odom a gift and chat with him on FaceTime. Likewise, Lakers player Ron Artest will attempt to get in touch with Odom via video chat.
"It's just a very small group of people because Lamar cannot handle too much stimulus, but the doctors are allowing a small group for a short time on his birthday," the source added.
Odom's aunt JaNean Mercer released a statement Friday in honor of Odom's birthday, People reported.
"Happy Birthday Lamar! We want to THANK everyone from around the world for your continued prayers and well wishes for Lamar and our family," Mercer said.
"Every birthday with Lamar is special but today is an especially momentous occasion and we honor GOD for this day and thank HIM for allowing us to spend this time together. Please continue to keep Lamar and our family in prayer as he continues on this miraculous journey."
Odom has slowly been improving since he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel last month. He has a long way to go, but thankfully, he no longer needs a kidney transplant and is regaining speech and physical function.
Khloe has remained at Odom's side and even called off their nearly-finalized divorce just two weeks ago. However, the reality TV star felt the need to announce she's not necessarily back with Odom romantically and is still involved with boyfriend James Harden.
