Lauren Bushnell admits "the million-dollar question" is whether her wedding to Ben Higgins is on or off.

When asked about the wedding, 26-year-old Bushnell played coy, telling Extra, "Oh, gosh, the million-dollar question."

"I think at this point," Higgins interjected, "Lauren and I are focusing on our relationship, which is obvious."

But Higgins, 28, insisted their relationship is great and progressing in the right direction.

"We're definitely together, we are happily engaged. The wedding in our mind -- 'Where's your ring at?' -- is still on, but we are just taking some time to help plan that where it's not stressful or overwhelming," said the Season 20 The Bachelor star.

During one of the recent Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After? episodes, Higgins suddenly called off the wedding because he didn't feel ready to take that next big step in life, leaving Bushnell -- who was already picking out bridesmaid dresses and bridal-shower registry items -- blindsided and hurt.

"The show is stressful," Higgins admitted. "It's hard... One thing Lauren and I have learned, we really need to focus on taking time as a couple to do things."

Higgins, however, believes what he's going through with his fiancee is completely normal.

"Any couple feels the same pressures, you get engaged and everyone asks when is the wedding... We've navigated it relatively well and doing things on our own timeline, honestly," he told Extra.

Higgins and Bushnell's romance has been rushed from the get-go. They've been dating for about one year, but several months were spent in hiding. The pair went public with their engagement once The Bachelor's finale aired in March.

"Lauren and I are processing ourselves... When it comes to having a televised wedding, there is a lot more to it than just, 'Hey, do you want to have your wedding televised?'" Higgins revealed.

Based on the Denver-based couple's responses, it's no surprise Higgins and Bushnell brushed off questions about having children.

"I think we need to get married first," Higgins noted.

Bushnell then shared, "We just try to not focus on what's next and just really enjoy each other and enjoy being engaged."
