"Dancing with the Stars" Season 23 kicked off Monday night with an energetic group performance by the show's pros to the song "On Top of the World" at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles.
Tom Bergeron introduced this season's contestants, describing the "incredible personalities" as "the subtle host, two champions direct from the Summer Olympics, a man who made a run for the White House, and the only little person ever to compete on any version of our show, anywhere in the world."

No one was eliminated from the competition in the season premiere.
