Leslie Carter reportedly struggled with an addiction to prescription drugs and her family members believe an overdose was the cause of her death.

According to the sources, Carter's family members were hopeful she was on her way to overcoming her substance abuse issues, especially since they had attempted to remove all prescription medications from the household.
However, the family members reportedly left Carter alone in the house while they ran errands on Tuesday, only to return home about an hour later and find her unconscious.
Police officials arrived at the scene shortly afterwards but could not save Carter, TMZ reported.
Carter's one-year-old daughter Alyssa Jane was reportedly not in the house when she died.
