Viewers interested in checking out the sixth season of Project Runway are going to have to wait a little longer.

"With this move, the series will resume its traditional cycle of two seasons per year" a Lifetime spokesperson told EW, apparently unaware that Runway only aired five seasons during its four years at Bravo, the show's current network.
A formal premiere date and time is expected to be announced soon, according to the spokesperson.
"We look forward to ringing in the New Year by giving Project Runway loyal fans a superlative season six with Heidi, Tim, Nina, and Michael," the spokesperson told EW.
According to an EW source, Bravo's NBC Universal parent's still-ongoing lawsuit over Lifetime's acquisition of the show is not the primary reason for the delay. The source cited production delays as the cause of the scheduling change, however another EW source at Lifetime disputed the claim and stated the season's production -- which will reportedly be handled by The Real World's Bunim-Murray Productions production company -- is on track and has already been cast.
