Lindsey, a 31-year-old internationally-recognized violinist, discussed her recent split -- although without identifying her ex by name -- during a rehearsal-footage package that aired prior to her taking the stage with partner Mark Ballas on Monday night's Dancing with the Stars broadcast.
"It's been a rough couple weeks," Lindsey shared with Mark as she was apparently trying to hold back tears.
"My relationship of a year and a half came to an end a week ago. It's been hard to go through, you know, push through all of this while feeling a lot inside."
Mark, who married singer/songwriter BC Jean last year, told his celebrity partner, "Breakups are horrible, I get it."

"The worst," agreed Lindsey, who is a top contender for the Season 25 mirrorball trophy so far on Dancing with the Stars.
"I know your heart probably really hurts right now, but I've got to say, man, you would never know it," Mark complimented the typically-bubbly violinist.
Lindsey then addressed the DWTS cameras and said, "With all that's going on, I'm so thankful for this show. In a time when my heart is a little broken, I'm grateful to have something that I can really love. I want to have a family and I thought I was almost ready to go to that next phase... I want to someday have a family and a home."
According to his social media accounts, Ryan is a 31-year-old who currently lives in Los Angeles and previously owned a kayak and canoe rental company called Hawaii Beach Time in Honolulu.
While Lindsey just confirmed her breakup from Ryan, observant social-media followers had noticed the couple hadn't posted anything about each other in recent months.

The last photo of the pair appeared to share together was shared on June 26, 2017, when Lindsey and Ryan were out celebrating their first anniversary together.
"Been dating this man for a year and he's taught me so much about service and How not to dance. Happy anniversary Ryan," Lindsey captioned a Twitter tweet featuring a car selfie of the pair.
Just one day prior, Ryan posted an Instagram photo of Lindsey standing next to a motorcycle while wearing a leather jacket.
"Started dating this hottie 1 year ago today. We've learned and grown so much together and Im so grateful for her. But tinder is calling my name so im afraid I'll have to let her go soon," Ryan wrote alongside the image, although the "Tinder" reference may not have been a joke in light of recent circumstances.
On Monday night's Dancing with the Stars show, Lindsey and Mark earned the highest score of the season from the judges -- 27 out of 30 possible points for their jive routine.
