"Dr. just called with blood test results...I have West Nile. Ugh. I'm fine, just tired. Takes a year to recover," Whelchel tweeted on Tuesday.
The Survivor: Philippines castaway, who is still in the running to win the million dollars, subsequently tweeted she's "expecting a full recovery."
According to People, nearly 4,000 people in the United States have been infected with West Nile virus this year.
