Produced by Sharp Entertainment, the same production company behind TLC's 90 Day Fiance cable ratings juggernaut, Love After Lockup follows couples in which one partner has been behind bars uniting (or reuniting) after the incarcerated partner's release from prison.
Love After Lockup: Life After Lockup continues to follow prior Love After Lockup couples as they continue to navigate their relationship in the real world.
Neither renewal is a surprise given the two shows each average over a million viewers and currently rank among WE tv's highest-rated television series.
Love After Lockup's first season aired on WE tv in early 2018 and was followed by "Season 2A," which premiered in December 2018 and concluded in March 2019.
The show proved to be such a big hit that the network premiered Life After Lockup in June and then immediately followed that with "Season 2B" of Love After Lockup, which featured a completely different cast of couples than "Season 2A."
"Even here, we're all so curious how their stories are evolving," WE tv president Marc Juris told Variety about Life After Lockup's origin. "We have some happy couples, and then we have many troubled couples who are still trying to work through it."

Season "2B" of Love After Lockup began airing in August and will air its finale on WE tv on Friday night.
"Very few shows have this level of engagement," Juris told Variety. "This is actual organic interest in the show."
Season 2 of Love After Lockup: Life After Lockup will reportedly premiere on WE tv in January 2020.

According to Juris, Life After Lockup Season 1 couples Andrea and Lamar, Marcelino and Brittany, and Clint and Tracie will be part of Season 2's cast.
Andrea and Lamar originally appeared on Season 1 of Love After Lockup while Marcelino and Brittany and Clint and Tracie first appeared on "Season 2A" of Love After Lockup.
Tracie made headlines in August when she suffered another setback in her attempt to stay out of jail and was arrested for drug possession again.
Juris appeared to allude to Tracie's arrest while discussing how the network decides which Love After Lockup couples to continue following with Variety.
"Well, what we see is it's not that infrequent that some of them go back to jail," he noted.

Earlier this month, "Season 2B" cast member Alex, who is currently appearing on Love After Lockup with his fiancee Glorietta, was also arrested on nine new felony charges.
