Produced by Sharp Entertainment, the same production company behind TLC's 90 Day Fiance, Love After Lockup's new episodes will continue to follow couples in which one partner has been behind bars uniting (or reuniting) after the imprisoned partner's release from prison.
After waiting so long for the incarcerated partner to be released from prison each couple is planning to get married, however whether that will actually happen remains uncertain.

"Will they make it down the aisle, or fall apart along the way?" WE tv teases in its super trailer (watch it below).
According to WE tv, the new Love After Lockup season will also feature more "firsts" than ever before.
"Relationships will be tested, boundaries will be pushed and secrets will explode. There will be more drama, love, doubt, mystery and firsts than ever before," the network teased in a press release announcing the new episodes.
Angela and Tony will be the former Love After Lockup couple returning for the new episodes. Angela and Tony originally appeared on Season 1 of Love After Lockup, which aired on 2018.
Love After Lockup's first season showed Angela preparing for Tony's release from prison so the engaged couple could begin building their new life together.

However, Angela and Tony's plans went awry when Tony didn't get released on his expected date because there wasn't a bed available at the halfway house.
Love After Lockup's Season 1 finale ended with Angela commiserating with her friend Brenda, a former convict who appeared to attempt to warn Angela that Tony may just be using her as a sugar momma and planning to dump her upon his release from prison.
In November 2018, WE tv had announced that Angela and Tony would be returning for Love After Lockup's second season.
Angela and Tony were even featured in the season preview trailer for Season 2 of Love After Lockup, which premiered in December 2018 and concluded in March 2019.

However, Tony and Angela never ended up appearing in Love After Lockup's second season, and WE tv never explained why.
The new episodes will show Tony finally getting released from prison -- however whether he will manage to remain on the outside is unclear.
"Angela is ready to marry Tony and is moving forward with wedding plans. Will he be able to stay out of trouble long enough to see his bride walk down the aisle? Angela doesn't know that a secret admirer has his own plans for her future," WE tv teased in its press release.
