Love in the Wild eliminated Kym Nguyen and Adam Rose during Wednesday night's third episode of the new NBC reality dating series, which features singles attempting to find love in the Costa Rican jungle.

"I'm really upset at the fact that [Steele Dewald] decided to say yes to [Erica Scherle]. You've got that one guy that you think maybe there's a glimmer of hope, and then you get looked over. Adam and I -- we were so great as a team, but had no connection -- whereas Steele and I struggled as a team but had a connection. I'm sad, definitely," Kym, a 24-year-old hairstylist from Quincy, MA, said after her elimination.
"Unfortunately, Kym was the closest to feeling anything for someone here. I truly did try to find love here out in the wild. I thought I may have had something brewing, but the feeling wasn't mutual. I just didn't find that one person. I'm going to take it as it is. I'm going to go home and continue to try to find someone," Adam, a 25-year-old bouncer from Taunton, MA, said following his ouster.
Love in the Wild's third episode began following the eliminations of Vanessa Guerrero, a 26-year-old law student from Phoenix, AZ, and Peter Paris, a 31-year-old surf camp owner from Venice, CA.
Love in the Wild host Darren McMullen then met with the remaining eight single men and eight single women who are looking for love while undertaking a series of adventurous activities in the hopes of winning luxurious rewards.

Darren explained that each man and woman who paired up during last week's episode at the season's second Couples Choice Ceremony would remain partners for their third jungle adventure and later get the option to stay paired up or change partners based on the order they completed the adventure.
The pairs were required to walk along a path where they would find a map and canoe to then take off to a location called Snake Island. The couples must dock their boat on the island, find a totem pole holding their list of instructions, and then navigate themselves through the jungle via compass in search of a plane wreck. Lastly, they had to grab a crate and get it back to the finish line near where they started.
Derek Leach, a 28-year-old medical sales representative from Venice, CA and Jess Debolt, a 24-year-old travel executive from San Francisco, CA were paired up to embark on Love in the Wild's third challenge together, while Steele, a 24-year-old pro golfer from Scottsdale, AZ teamed up with Kym.
Jessica Soares, a 23-year-old retail supervisor from Bridgewater, MA and Jason Jackson, a 28-year-old in sales from San Francisco, CA paired up, while Benjamin Hooker, a 27-year-old MBA graduate from Charleston, SC and Brandee Dillehay, a 25-year-old mental health specialist from Nashville, TN were a couple.
Erica, a 24-year-old self-employed songwriter manager from Nashville, TN and Miles Haefner, a 28-year-old client services manager from Saint Louis Park, MN teamed up, while Adam was ready to take on the next adventure with Heather Pond, a 26-year-old public relations professional from Sonoma, CA.

Samantha Woods, a 23-year-old wedding planner from Huntington Beach, CA and Mike Spiro, a 29-year-old commercial real estate broker from San Francisco, CA paired up, while Skip Sullivan, a 30-year-old loan underwriter from Milton, MA competed alongside Theresa Trujillo, a 24-year-old Hooters girl and real estate agent from San Jose, CA.
The course proved itself to be grueling, as many of the strong relationships built between a few of the couples were tested along the way. Mike and Samantha, who had remained a happy couple since the very beginning of the competition, bickered and grew frustrated with each other. However, all the couples appeared to manage to finish the tasks and complete the challenge within moments of each other.
Derek and Jess crossed the finish line in first place, winning a night alone together at the posh Oasis resort, a bottle of a rare champagne, and immunity at the subsequent Couples' Choice elimination ceremony, according to Darren.
Following Derek and Jess were Skip and Theresa, Mike and Samantha, Miles and Erica, Jason and Jessica, Ben and Brandee, Steele and Kym, and finally Adam and Heather.
While Derek and Jess enjoyed their time at the Oasis and shared their champagne, the rest of the couples spent time getting to know each other better in their less plush cabins, or bungalows.

Later on, Love in the Wild's third Couples' Choice Ceremony commenced.
Darren gave all eight couples the same instructions as last week except for one twist. He announced the men would be given the option to stay with their own partners or switch and get to know someone else first, because the women were given that ability last week.
Like last week's Couples Choice Ceremony, a contestant would not be able decline a partner request from Derek or Jess if they chose to split up and request partnership from other castmates, given their first-place finish in the third adventure challenge.
All the remaining couples' members were given the opportunity to decline a request to pair up with any castmate, but would risk elimination if not selected by another man or woman afterwards as the last man and woman without a match would be eliminated.
Derek and Jess, followed by Skip and Theresa and then Mike and Samantha, all decided to remain couples and continue their Love in the Wild journeys together. Mike had surprised Samantha with a secluded outdoor lunch, which allowed them to address their issues and concerns and get back on the dating track.

Miles, who wanted to explore other possible relationships, left Erica and picked Heather, while Erica -- now solo after Miles chose otherwise -- chose to pair up with Steele. This matchup left Kym and Adam, who was teamed up with Heather, both without partners.
Jason opted to stay with Jessica -- who admitted she was only going to stay with Jason in the hopes of avoiding elimination and pursuing a connection with another man, while Ben and Brandee also decided they wanted to continue the competition together.
Kym and Adam were then left as the last single unmatched individuals standing and departed without having found Love in the Wild.
