Undergaro proposed to Menounos, 37, during her Wednesday interview on The Howard Stern Show.
"Although I said that this isn't a proposal I want to ask you something, Maria," Undergaro said while getting down on one knee, according to Us Weekly. "Will you make me the happiest man on Earth?"
Menounos' mouth dropped in shock before the E! News host reportedly blurted out, "Are you freaking kidding me right now?"
"This show's meant so much to both of us," Undergaro continued. "I said, one day you will be on that show and you will be a star, and here you are."
Undergaro, who cofounded AfterBuzz TV with Menounos, designed the engagement ring with jewelry designer Jean Dousset.
Menounos and Undergaro overcame major adversity in their years together because her Greek Orthodox family initially disowned her for dating him because he wasn't Greek. She also didn't meet her parents' expectations of getting married and having many children.
Menounos got thrown out of her parents' house and they discontinued her education. However, they eventually came around and the entire family starred on one season of Chasing Maria Menounos in Spring 2014 on Oxygen.
Menounos was also a contestant on the fourteenth season of Dancing with the Stars. She finished in fourth place with pro dancer Derek Hough.
