Mariah Carey is speaking out about her highly-publicized split from James Packer.
The 46-year-old singer broke her silence on Wednesday's episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" after she and Packer ended their engagement in October.
"It's a whole friggin' thing," she said of public interest in her breakup.
"I think I'm doing well. How are you? No, I'm actually [great]. Everything happens for a reason. Things are the way they are."
Carey and Packer split amid rumors of tension over the singer's E! reality series, "Mariah's World," which premieres Dec. 4.
The star confirmed on "Ellen" that Packer "allegedly" didn't want to take part in the show, but pointed out he appears in episodes.
"It's kind of difficult to talk about at this moment, so I'm just going to compliment you on these decorations once again because they are fabulous," she said.
Woman's Day reported at the time of the breakup that Packer had "huge reservations" about Carey's show.
Sources told "Entertainment Tonight" last week that the Australian businessman wants to be edited out of the series.

"He is demanding that E! and Carey remove him from all footage of 'Mariah's World,'" an insider said. "He wants E! to reopen all the footage they got of him and edit him out of the show."
"He is reneging on every promise he has made her, including being on the show and getting her a beautiful house in Beverly Hills," the source added.
Carey was previously married to Nick Cannon, and shares 6-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with the 36-year-old actor.
Cannon confirmed this month that ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell is pregnant and expecting his third child.
