Mark Ballas feels the freestyle routines each of the three remaining couples will perform during tonight's Dancing with the Stars broadcast will be the deciding factor in who receive the ninth season's mirror ball trophy.

"The freestyle routines will make it or break it for the finalists," Ballas told People in a Monday report.

"In some ways the pros have even more pressure than the celebrities because that freestyle choreography has to create a vibe, an excitement in the room. It has to be off the charts."

Dancing with the Stars' ninth-season performance episode finale will air tonight at 8PM ET/PT on ABC, with the three remaining couples -- singer/actress Mya and her partner Dmitry Chaplin, former The Osbournes star Kelly Osbourne and her partner Louis van Amstel, and entertainer Donny Osmond and his partner Kim Johnson -- each undertaking three routines, including the freestyle.

While Mya and Chaplin have been atop the judges' leaderboard throughout much the competition and seem poised to take home the title, Ballas said he'd like her to show him "a little more of her personality."

"I want to see the camaraderie between her and Dmitry a bit more," he told People. "Donny needs to bring it in the freestyle round and Kelly needs to really let go of any inhibitions and just go for it."

Despite having suggestions for each of the remaining three celebrity participants, Ballas said he'd be happy with any of them winning.

"Donny is an entertainer through and through. Kelly is the little engine that could. And Mya is awesome," he told People.

Dancing with the Stars' ninth-season champ will be crowned during a live two-hour broadcast on Tuesday at 9PM ET/PT.
