Married at First Sight alum Jamie Otis believes Katie Conrad deliberately sabotages her relationship with Derek Sherman in order to have frequent make-up sex.

During the March 26 episode of Married at First Sight: Couples Couch, which features previous Married at First Sight couples providing commentary on encore broadcasts of MAFS Season 10 episodes, footage aired of Katie giving Derek a hard time about his "unrealistic dreams."

Jamie and her husband Doug Hehner spoke their minds about Katie and Derek's issues, as did Elizabeth Bice and Jamie Thompson as well as Shawniece Jackson and Jephte Pierre.
"They look so cute together," Elizabeth noted.

"Katie and Derek are like an enigma. I can't quite figure out, ever, what's going to happen with them," Otis admitted.
"It's like they're good for each other but then they sabotage it, almost on purpose, so they can just reignite things," Doug reasoned.
"Yeah," Otis agreed.
But Otis voiced how Katie seemed to be more at fault for her ongoing problems with Derek.
"I would say it's more like Katie sabotages things on purpose," Otis shared.

"I think she likes make-up sex, like, I genuinely think she loves make-up sex. And I do think she likes to have the chase a little too."
Doug added of the mental health professional, "I think her professional field makes her overthink everything."

He continued, "And it puts [Derek] in such a hard place because you can't think for somebody else. You can't think of what somebody is thinking -- you can't. It's never accurate."
"Yeah," Otis chimed in.

Given Katie wants a husband who can provide stability in life and prioritize his wife and children above all else, Katie has scolded Derek on Married at First Sight for being so focused on pursuing dreams -- which include composing a Christmas song, building giant connecting tree houses, and backpacking across different continents.
Katie has seemingly picked fights with Derek when their marriage ironically appears to be at its most strong and healthy points, and the worst one they ever had was about Derek's dreams.
While Derek didn't think there was an issue with having his head up in the clouds on occasion and setting goals for himself, Katie yelled at him to grow up and be a man.
Otis claimed Katie's condescending comments about Derek being a child at heart were "so cruel."
"What are you saying about your husband right now?! That isn't very nice, Katie, come on!" Otis said as she watched back one of Derek and Katie's counseling sessions with Married at First Sight expert Dr. Viviana Coles.

During the counseling session, Katie explained she had to grow up quickly because her parents divorced when she was 10 years old.
"So why is that his fault?" Doug asked, in Derek's defense. "If he can understand her point of view, then why can't she understand his point of view?"
"Yeah," Otis agreed.
Jephte was shown wondering if Katie resented Derek for not killing his dreams like she did, and Season 10 footage subsequently aired of Katie crying about how she never had time to let her inner-child develop.
"So you're going to need him!" Shawniece pointed out to Katie by talking to the cameras. "She's going to need him to help her get that inner [child] back in herself."
"[Dreams] she killed so long ago," Jephte interjected.
"Right, instead of killing all his [dreams]," Shawniece continued. "They could balance each other out."
Beth, however, observed a major difference between Katie and Derek.
"They are just in two different places as far as the things on their goal list," Beth said.
Thompson joked that Derek was the girl and Katie was the guy in their relationship, prompting Elizabeth to shut him up and tell him he's "so done."

After talking out their feelings, Derek determined he and Katie both had to grow up fast when they were younger due to their parents divorcing; however, they reacted in different ways.
Derek explained he chose to cling onto his childhood and maintain his youth and dreams while Katie shut down that side of herself so she didn't have to come to grip with the fact she had missed out on so much.
"Divorce makes you grow up fast?" Jephte asked Shawniece.
"My mom being a single parent forced me to grow up faster," Shawniece acknowledged.
Derek suggested on the show he should take Katie to play at Dave & Buster's in order to bring out her inner-child, but Otis and Doug joked about how that didn't sound like a good idea.
Dr. Viviana advised Katie on Married at First Sight 10 to "fake it until you make it" and at least pretend to support Derek's wild dreams because spouses should be each other's No. 1 fan. And Pastor Cal asked Derek to embrace the great things he already had in his life and prove to Katie that she's his first priority.
The pair chose to stay married on "Recommitment Day" and encourage each other going forward, but Derek and Katie hit another bump in the road when she discovered a love poem he had written to a girl when he was in high school.
Katie's jealousy and insecurities resurfaced, as she feared Derek would never fall in love with her or feel that passionate about her.
Married at First Sight currently airs at 8PM ET/PT on Wednesday nights also features Mindy Shiben, Zach Justice, Meka Jones, Michael Watson, Taylor Dunklin, Brandon Reid, Jessica Studer and Austin Hurd.
