Married at First Sight alum Jephte Pierre believes Derek Sherman is lying about never having been in love before he married Katie Conrad on the show's tenth season.

The former MAFS couples expressed disbelief over a couple claims Derek and Katie had made early into the process during Lifetime's January 23 broadcast of Married at First Sight: Couples Couch, which features commentary on encore broadcasts of the show's tenth season.
On the topic of Derek's dating history prior to the show, Jephte admitted he wasn't buying the fact the 26-year-old Maryland cyber security engineer had never been in love before.
"I don't believe the dude when he said he's never been in love. The love probably never worked out, but to say you've never been in love after 26 years? Never?" Jephte reasoned.
Jamie then expressed happiness she wasn't the bride in Derek's new marriage to Katie.
"He said he's never been in love and he just married someone," Jamie pointed out to her husband. "I don't know if I'd want to marry someone who's never been in love."
"Yeah, that would be tough," Doug shared.
After Jephte reiterated how he didn't believe Derek's story of never having been in love before, Jamie added, "That's a huge red flag to me."
"How does he know how to love if he's never been in love?" Jamie questioned.
"They're going to work on it together," Doug suggested. "No one is going to be in love in the beginning -- you've got to work on it."
"I know, but you want someone with a little experience," Jamie explained.

And Kristine and Keith apparently had similar concerns about Derek's lack of experience in the love department.
"If you've never been in love, how are you ready for marriage?" Kristine asked.
"That's true," Keith responded.
"That would've been my first question," Kristine noted. "Like, what do you mean?"
"How do you not know?" Keith asked.
"Like, what is this jump from 'never in love' to 'I'm getting married and I'm ready?'" Kristine joked.
Also during Married at First Sight: Couples Couch, a clip played of Katie and Derek waking up together in bed after their wedding night.

"No they didn't," Doug disagreed.
"A hundred percent they did," Jamie argued.
Another clip then played of Derek and Katie saying they had only slept for a couple hours during the night.
"Our first night together was amazing. We didn't really do a lot of sleeping," Katie told the cameras in a recent Married at First Sight episode.
"There was a lot of kissing. There were some heated moments where I thought we might go a little too far than we planned, but we decided to hold off."

Ashley, however, wasn't so sure Katie was telling the truth.
"Do you believe her?" Ashley asked her husband.
"'There were a couple of heated moments where I thought we might go too far,'" Anthony repeated. "What exactly does that mean?"
"[They] definitely [had sex]. They're lying!" Ashley claimed.
Derek, however, explained during the show he didn't want his marriage to feel like a one-night stand that wouldn't end, which previous Married at First Sight couples could understand.
Derek was matched to marry Katie, a 25-year-old mental health professional from Virginia, by Married at First Sight experts Pastor Calvin Roberson, Dr. Pepper Schwartz and Dr. Viviana Coles for the new season that premiered earlier this month.

Both spouses were immediately attracted to each other and felt chemistry, and the pair appeared to enjoy their wedding night.
Katie and Derek continued to bond the next day, especially when Derek asked her father for his blessing to marry his daughter.
Katie was so impressed by the sweet gesture, and the pair were all smiles heading to their honeymoon in Panama.
However, in the January 9 broadcast of Couples Couch, MAFS alum Bobby Dodd predicted Katie and Derek's marriage is not going to last long.
In addition to Derek and Katie, Married at First Sight's new season also stars Mindy Shiben and Zach Justice, Taylor Dunklin and Brandon Reid, Meka Jones and Michael Watson, and Jessica Studer and Austin Hurd.
Married at First Sight currently airs on Wednesday nights at 8PM ET/PT on Lifetime.
