Married at First Sight star Amber Martorana apparently takes responsibility for the "misunderstanding" about her hair color in which she believed Dave was trying to convince the platinum blonde to become a brunette.

Given Dave's physical "type" happens to be tall brunettes, Amber struggled for quite some time to believe Dave was attracted to her, and she opened up about the awkward situation on Unfiltered.
"I definitely cringe [watching that clip back], but it's helpful. I mean, I think our communication is a problem that comes up a lot between Dave and I. It's not something that is easy for us to fix; I think we both need to improve," Amber told Jamie.
"I need to be more open-minded and kind of take a step back from my insecurities, worries, what my fears are, and what I think he's trying to tell me. And he needs to remember I might need more affirmation from him."
Amber admitted it didn't help that Dave was "always really hard to read" during these heated conversations.
"And he thinks a lot before he speaks, unlike me. I just say what's on my mind and I can't help it. I'm really emotional and I have emotional responses, and he's not that way. And then I want more from him, like, 'Give me more. What are you feeling? What are you thinking? Tell me something good about me!'" Amber explained.

Jamie then asked Amber, in hindsight, whether she felt Dave had been trying to manipulate her into dying her hair brown.
(Dave suggested Amber return to her natural dark roots when she had revealed her hair was falling out due to dying it so often).
"I think it was miscommunication. I don't think he was trying to do that at all. I was being really defensive. I was just so worried about this whole -- he wanted something different, and so, I was just defensive and insecure about it," Amber confessed.
Jamie then asked, "Why do you think you were so defensive and insecure?

"I don't know. It was just something I couldn't get away from for some reason," Amber replied.
"I was just thinking he was disappointed when he met me. I'm a natural brunette, so it really shouldn't matter. I should actually be happy about it, like, 'Cool, I don't have to dye my hair! You like it.' So there's really no reason. Honestly, I don't even know."

Amber also reiterated on Married at First Sight: Unfiltered how she was falling in love with Dave at this point in the process, which in turn made her more sensitive about Dave's opinion of her.
"It's scary, just feeling so vulnerable and... developing feelings and feeling like they are not being reciprocated," Amber said.
Married at First Sight's seventh season currently airs on Tuesday nights on Lifetime. In addition to Dave and Jamie, the season also stars Bobby Dodd and Danielle Bergman as well as Tristan Thompson and Mia Bally.
