While Justin and Alexis explored their new place, Newton was walking around off-leash and Justin was loosely holding onto Maya's leash. Footage captured Maya growling at Newton and flashing her teeth multiple times.
When Justin and Alexis weren't paying attention, Maya lunged at Newton and the pair fought. Maya bit Newton and left him with a bleeding eye, and Alexis was mortified and immediately drove her pup to an emergency veterinarian.
Krysten, a fellow dog mom, shared her opinion on the situation during the August 17 episode of Married at First Sight: Afterparty.
"I knew this happened. Watching it is terrifying. Ooh, oh my gosh, Alexis is so strong though -- acting [after the incident], picking [Newton] up [and saying], 'Let's take him to the vet.' I'm so proud of her," Krysten shared.
"But that is really, really a very tough situation, and my heart would be broken if that happened to my Luna."
Afterparty host Keshia Knight Pulliam pointed out that Justin never intended for the attack to happen -- but it still happened.
"I feel Justin's intentions, but as soon as his dog started, like, showing a lot of teeth and getting real aggressive, separate them!" Nate suggested.
"It's real simple. I don't even own a dog, but I think that's common sense to me."
Nate added, "So I think he should've been paying attention more to his dog's behavior, honestly."
And Binh agreed Alexis and Justin had "a tough situation" on their hands.

"I wouldn't know how I would've reacted on both sides," Binh said, adding that he didn't realize Maya and Newton's fight was as bad as it was.
Justin cried on last week's Married at First Sight episode about how he felt like "a crappy" dog owner.
"I should've paid attention to those signs. You know, the first time that she snapped and the second time, I just felt like I should've done something about it because it could've cost me my marriage," Justin acknowledged.

Justin and Alexis apparently discussed potentially giving Maya away so that Alexis would feel safe in her home, even though the mere thought crushed Justin's heart.
Justin had been living with Maya ever since she was a puppy, and so Maya was his "baby," just like Newton was Alexis' baby.
"If you were in Justin's position, would you give your dog away?" Keshia asked Krysten.
"That's a tough question, Keshia. I do -- I'm a huge animal lover. I love all animals. I love my baby Luna so, so much. But a marriage could be forever, and you know, Luna might have five or six years left," Krysten admitted.

Keshia, who is also a dog lover, agreed and said she would give her dog to someone she knows.
"And then if things didn't work out, you can go back and pick [the dog] up!" Keshia announced with a playful shrug.
"Exactly," Krysten responded.
But instead of immediately giving Maya away to a friend or an animal shelter, Justin entered his dog into a two-week training camp to see if Maya's bad behavior could be corrected.
It wasn't clear if Alexis -- who was seemingly traumatized by the fight -- would be able to trust Justin and Maya again, but Krysten recalled how Alexis "was very calm" when the women had discussed the incident during filming.
"She did say that she felt, a little bit, like her trust had been compromised," Krysten said. "Her intuition was that this dog may have done something like this before, and she just wished that she had all the facts before Newton got stitches."

Krysten revealed that when Alexis took Newton to the vet immediately, he got "stitches around his eye," although she's not sure how many stitches exactly.
But Krysten was sure to announce, "Newton has made a full recovery to my knowledge!"
Given Binh and Justin became very close friends during filming, Keshia asked Binh how he thought Justin would probably handle, or solve, the problem.
"I think Justin is very emotionally attached to his dog, so it's a tough situation to be in. For him to give his dog away, it might make him feel a type of way," Binh reasoned.
Keshia predicted that Justin would become resentful of Alexis if she allowed him to get rid of his beloved dog.

Nate concluded the segment by saying the dog fight most likely had a negative impact on Alexis and Justin's relationship going forward., no matter what.
"I feel like the dogs are their children, you know? And one child just beat up another child really, really bad. So, I think it's going to be tough to kind of rebound from that," Nate shared.
"It's going to take a lot of time to heal."
Keshia ultimately called Justin's decision to take Maya to a training facility "a step in the right direction."
Married at First Sight's fifteenth season, which airs Wednesday nights at 8PM ET/PT on Lifetime, also stars Binh's wife Morgan, Krysten's husband Mitch, Nate's wife Stacia, and Lindy and Miguel.
