Shawniece and Jephte, who got married on Season 6 of Married at First Sight on Lifetime, shared with EBONY magazine they plan to celebrate the fact they're welcoming a daughter with family and friends at Shawniece's baby shower this weekend.
The child is due in September 2018, and the pair's joys and struggles of preparing for first-time parenthood will be documented on a new spinoff series Married at First Sight: Happily Ever After, which will also premiere this fall.
Fans have been speculating about the baby's gender for weeks now based on clues and hints Shawniece and Jephte may or may not have intentionally given.
For example, Shawniece's latest baby bump photo at 24 weeks was captioned "flower power" on Instagram, and she was looking beautiful in a pink dress and flower crown.

Late last month, Shawniece said she was considering an online gender reveal, but she appeared to change her mind after some online followers allegedly spoke negatively about her unborn child.
Shawniece and Jephte exchanged vows as complete strangers. They didn't even know each other's names going into the eight-week Married at First Sight experiment, but after many ups and downs, they decided to stay together on "Decision Day."
Shawniece disclosed her pregnancy just before the Season 6 finale aired on April 24.
Married at First Sight's seventh season, starring Dallas-based couples, premiered on July 10, and the show is currently airing on Tuesday nights.

Married at First Sight's upcoming Happily Ever After show will chronicle the stories of two other couples from seasons past in addition to Shawniece and Jephte.

Lifetime also revealed earlier this week it will air a new series called Married at First Sight: Honeymoon Island, gathering 20 unmatched MAFS candidates, former MAFS participants, and brand new singles together and giving them another shot at finding love.
Married at First Sight: Happily Ever After's premise seems similar to Married at First Sight: The First Year, a prior spinoff which aired in 2015 and 2016 and followed the two Married at First Sight Season 1 couples who opted to stay together at the end of the season: Jason Carrion and Cortney Hendrix as well as Doug Hehner and Jamie Otis.
In 2017, Married at First Sight also did a second spinoff, Married At First Sight: Second Chances, which starred Vanessa Nelson and David Norton, who participated in Season 3 but each ended up divorcing the partner they had married on the show.
Married At First Sight: Second Chances featured a format similar to The Bachelor/The Bachelorette in which Vanessa and David each dated a group of singles and eliminated them weekly until only one remained.
Married at First Sight: The First Year ran for two seasons, but Married At First Sight: Second Chances was not renewed for a second season. However, Doug and Jamie did star in a third spinoff -- Married at First Sight: Jamie and Doug Plus One -- late last year.
