Married at First Sight's prior couples have bashed Michael Watson's decision to remove his wedding ring after an argument with wife Meka Jones, saying it was a "juvenile" move and he is "full of sh-t."

Meka and Michael slept in different hotel rooms and went their separate ways on their honeymoon after Meka had accused her husband of saying off camera they must consummate their marriage during the trip or else he'd want out of the relationship.
"So literally, it took two nights of them away from each other before they came together and had a conversation," Jamie noted during Lifetime's January 30 broadcast of Married at First Sight: Couples Couch, which features commentary on encore broadcasts of Married at First Sight's tenth season.
Once Meka and Michael finally reunited in Panama to talk things out, Jamie was shocked to hear Michael couldn't come up with anything to say other than he was not "not bad" and feeling "pretty chill" when his wife asked how his day was going.
"You say, 'It's not going great because I've been wanting to see you,'" Doug suggested.
"Yeah! Anything other than, 'I'm fine,'" Jamie added.
Meka suggested to Michael during their conversation they should take the pressure of romance off the table and just start off as friends, but Elizabeth insisted the couple had to fight for their marriage and push through.
"Marriage ain't for punks. You can't just be friends, there's no such thing," Elizabeth said.

But Meka had noticed Michael wasn't wearing his wedding ring that day.
"He already took the ring off?" Kristine questioned. "They haven't even made it a week and the ring is off already?!"

"Yeah, it's really not that hard," Jamie said. "Why would you take your wedding ring off!? I feel like that's also very juvenile behavior, like, why would you take it off?"
Michael told Meka in the MAFS episode he had a lot of work to do when it came to fixing their marriage.
"I will wear my ring again, but I can't give you a timeline," Michael told Meka on the Season 10 episode. "But I know in my heart it's going to happen."
Kristine was surprised by what she was hearing.
"'I can't give you a timeline?!' Put the damn ring on!" Kristine yelled.
And Danielle clearly agreed, saying, "He needs to go put that sh-t back on."
Michael explained to Meka he wanted to live up to his wedding vows and didn't feel right wearing his ring until he felt like he was the husband she deserved.

"Meka is like, 'Fine! Mine's off then too! See ya!" Jamie noted. "How do you like that?! Tit for tat."
Kristine pointed out if the couple wasn't going to wear their symbolic rings, they'd never get better.
Meka was then shown asking Michael what he needed from her in order to make things work, and he replied "communication" because she was talking to everyone else about their problems and ignoring him.
"You're the one who wanted a different room!" Kristine shouted. "Who else is she supposed to talk to?! You left!"
Michael told his wife he needed enough room to make mistakes, and Kristine quipped with attitude, "The couch would have been enough room."
"You got a whole extra room," Kristine continued. "And left your wife for the night -- and didn't talk about it. So who's she supposed to talk to?"
Jamie said Meka was actually "on fire" with her communication, and then Doug pointed out she seemed to remember every little thing that Michael did wrong.
Michael suggested he and Meka should take the time to rebuild their foundation, and then Elizabeth admitted, "Y'all are being stupid. I'm going to go ahead and say it."

On the topic of being friends first, Michael told his wife he didn't want to end the eight-week experiment as just pals. Michael said their goal should be to build a connection and then stay married at the end of the process.
"He does sound like he wants sex," Jamie insisted. "'The goal is not to just be friends, it's to be married.'"
When Meka and Michael were shown enjoying a dinner with the other four MAFS couples in Panama later on, Meka vented to everyone at the table how she never imagined marriage would be this hard and she still felt very uncomfortable around Michael.

"You've got to keep that in your circle, honey," Keith noted.
"[Michael] just said, like, 'You're talking to everybody else, but you ain't talking to me,'" Kristine observed.
"What is she supposed to do? Lie?" Jamie reasoned.
Keith thought Meka was "doing too much" by sharing her relationship problems with the group, but Kristine disagreed.
"No, she's not... She told him. What is she supposed to sugarcoat it?!" Kristine asked her husband.

Michael claimed at the dinner he wasn't wearing his wedding ring because it was a representation of something he did not live up to, which in this case, was being a good husband.
Doug laughed and said, "[Meka] knows he's full of sh-t!"
Kristine then demanded, once again, Michael should put his wedding ring back on.
In the latest episode of Married at First Sight's tenth season, Michael and Meka attempted to get their relationship back on track by enjoying an excursion in Panama and getting to know each other better.
At the end of a very busy day, Michael told his wife he had high hopes for the marriage and really cared about her, and so Meka pulled him in for a genuine hug.
