Married at First Sight's prior couples have slammed Michael Watson for his alleged sex ultimatum to Meka Jones and how he handled things afterwards.

Meka had accused Michael of saying off camera they must consummate their marriage during their honeymoon in Panama or else he'd want out of the relationship.
After watching a clip of Meka and Michael waking up in separate hotel rooms following their disagreement, Doug and Jamie Otis were critical of Michael leaving his wife alone.
Doug first pointed out during Lifetime's January 30 broadcast of Married at First Sight: Couples Couch that Michael missed out on his only opportunity to "reconcile" with Meka when cameras weren't rolling.
"She never said he had to leave -- he chose to leave," Jamie Otis also pointed out on Couples Couch, which features commentary on encore broadcasts of Married at First Sight's tenth season.
Keith said Meka was pushing Michael's buttons by harping on the subject, but Kristine argued, "He started off by saying, 'If we don't have sex by the end of the honeymoon, I'm not feeling this marriage.' And then she confronted him about it, like, 'Can you just admit that you said this?' And he was like, 'Oh, yes and no.' Did you say it or not?! Stop playing!"
Jamie Otis said the situation "sucks" for Meka because her husband had really disappointed her.
"She really was looking for love. I mean, you can tell," Jamie Otis noted.
Jamie Thompson suggested Meka should have gone for a walk or hike to clear her mind the morning after her heated Michael confrontation.

"You need to reset," Jamie Thompson acknowledged.

Kristine apparently never pictured Michael would be the type of guy to give his wife a sex ultimatum.
"I didn't picture Michael being the one saying, like, 'If we don't have sex by the end of the honeymoon,' but that's what [Meka] said!" Kristine explained.
"He seemed proper and perfect and then off camera, he's somebody completely different... I don't see any female receiving, 'We need to have sex by the end of our honeymoon, or this won't work out for me' -- I don't see any female receiving that well."
Keith reasoned that maybe Michael was just talking in the context of the experiment.
"He said, 'We only have seven weeks to make this work,' so you put a timeline on when y'all are having sex?!" Kristine questioned.
"You know what I mean? He's already putting a timeline on stuff, and I think... she's already getting annoyed because he's like, 'Well we've got seven weeks.' Who does that remind you of?"
Kristine then coughed, "Will," seemingly referring to Will Guess -- who had married Jasmine McGriff -- on the show's eighth season.
Keith responded by saying, "[Michael], you just shot yourself in the foot, man."

Later on in the Couples Couch broadcast, Doug said Michael needed to apologize to Meka and continued to dig himself into a hole by distancing himself from his wife.
Jamie Thompson asked Elizabeth whether the sex ultimatum was really what Michael had said or if that was just what she had heard, but Elizabeth had no idea.
"I can understand her getting upset about someone saying or putting pressure on sex. It's not fun and romantic anymore when you do that," Elizabeth began.
(Jamie Thompson and Elizabeth exchanged side smirks as Elizabeth was talking because he had complained about not having sex enough on their own Married at First Sight season).
"But at the same time, he's not saying that at all," Elizabeth noted.
"He's telling two completely different stories," Jamie Thompson insisted. "Or THEY are telling."
A clip then played of Michael telling the other Married at First Sight grooms he wanted to love his wife the way she wanted to be loved but then also receive the same in return.
"Michael seems kind of greasy," Jamie Thompson confessed with a laugh. "He's always trying to slide out of situations."
"Oh, you're calling the kettle black right now!" Elizabeth yelled, before Jamie Thompson playfully put a hand over her mouth.

Zach Justice told Michael that Meka's a strong woman and he's a strong man and so the couple just needed to figure out how to navigate their relationship as a unit.
"Very good advice, Zach," Kristine said. "He pisses me off and then wins me back over every episode."

"When you start to pressure sex at all, it pretty much sets the ground rule for the rest of your relationship," Jamie Otis explained.
"Nobody likes that," Doug said.
"Yeah, like, you're always going to kind of feel pressure," Jamie Otis noted.
"Don't force it," Doug agreed.
"Yeah, so she's never really going to want to have sex with him now," Jamie Otis pointed out.
Recalling her own relationship, Danielle told Bobby, "We were just banging it out every night."
But Bobby clarified, "No, we banged it out one day, you got your period the next."
"Oh yeah," Danielle remembered. "I'm sorry -- can't believe I forgot about that... I'm sorry, babe. But now we have a lifetime to bang it out."

Meka and Michael maintained their distance the day after their fight, and Doug insisted they weren't "making progress by staying apart."
"That's definitely true too," Jamie Otis said. "How weird that [Meka and Michael] just met together [with the rest of the cast] and they didn't even talk -- and then they went their separate ways? That's crazy to me! That's crazy!"

"I'm on Meka's side for this one. He needs to come back and apologize. Poor Meka," Jamie Otis said.
"I don't know why he hasn't apologized yet," Doug admitted.
Jamie Otis agreed Michael waited a long time to say anything to Meka, who was probably tired of "the bullsh-t."
Pastor Cal advised both Meka and Michael to get to know each other better and try to start off with a friendship so they'll become comfortable sharing a space.
"I think what got lost in translation from our initial conversations was me being a very direct and straightforward person. I was just trying to get an understanding of where she was mentally, like, what's her sexual makeup?" Michael told Pastor Cal.

"Whether it happens tomorrow or it doesn't happen at all or it happens in seven weeks..."
"What's her sexual makeup?!" Jamie Otis interjected, appearing confused and grossed out.
"That's not the story she's been telling," Doug said.
"I don't know, Michael, you're not digging yourself out of the grave at all," Jamie Otis explained. "What's your sexual makeup? Like, what?!"
Doug said "there's a way better way of asking" Meka about her feelings on intimacy, rather than, "If we don't have sex, then it's not going to work."

"Pastor Cal didn't lay into Michael nearly hard enough," Doug said.
Jamie Otis agreed and added, "Pastor Cal didn't lay into him at all."
The couple agreed, however, Pastor Cal was probably giving Michael the benefit of the doubt.
"Alright, Pastor Cal is giving you a pass! I can tell," Jamie Otis concluded.
In addition to Meka and Michael, Married at First Sight's tenth season also stars Taylor Dunklin and Brandon Reid, Katie Conrad and Derek Sherman, Mindy Shiben and Zach, and Jessica Studer and Austin Hurd.
Married at First Sight currently airs on Wednesday nights at 8PM ET/PT on Lifetime.
