The show currently features four couples blossoming and deepening their connections.
Eric Acosta, a 31-year-old entrepreneur and son of a diplomat from Denver, CO, is paired with Katie Muller, a 28-year-old in digital advertising from Denver, CO.

Brandin Brosh, a 28-year-old clothing boutique owner from Biloxi, MS, has her eyes set on Jona Bienko, a 35-year-old auto broker from Como, CO.
Shannon Raddler, a 33-year-old pharmaceutical sales representative from Atlanta, GA, is pursuing Kimber Gardner, a 28-year-old medical sales representative from Las Vegas, NV.
And finally, Jada Rashawn, a 27-year-old professional nanny placement specialist and brand spokesperson from San Antonio, TX, is a couple with Chris Perry, a 29-year-old musician, personal trainer and youth counselor from Binghamton, NY.
The Honeymoon Island broadcast kicked off on Day 14 of the process.
"Five couples matched themselves on chemistry, and we've been testing them on principles such as psychology, sociology, sexology and now, over the next two days, spirituality," Dr. Jessica explained.

That morning, Jessica announced Isabella McKenzie and Tyler Moody had decided to pack their bags and leave Honeymoon Island.

The other couples agreed the couple had gotten into an argument over something "so stupid," and they seemed please the dark cloud had moved out and away from their own blossoming relationships.
The men thought Isabella needed to work on herself because she was "controlling" and wanted to have Tyler "on a leash."
Pastor Cal then told the couples he wanted them to discuss spirituality, which was more than just religion, as the topic touches upon core values, fears, and what helps a person overcome challenges.

Brandin revealed she was afraid of the unknown, Chris noted he fears heights, Katie announced she was afraid of failure, and Eric said he feared success.
"I like a lot of things about Eric. The fact Eric and I have opposite fears shows there's a large part of him I don't know about. We keep discovering more about each other, and the more I learn about him, the more excited I am, because I came to Honeymoon Island to get married," Katie said in a confessional.
Over the next two days, the couples were encouraged to take themselves out of their comfort zones, let their guards down, and participate in activities they normally wouldn't try.
Jona and Brandin went ziplining, which required Brandin to place her trust in her partner. Pastor Cal hoped this experience would bond them deeper than ever.

Brandin was reserved in her conversation with Jona, which frustrated him a little bit. She explained she tends to avoid discussions about politics and religion because everyone has a different view of things.
"But I'd like to hear your thoughts," Jona said.
"Okay, that's over now," Brandin said as she walked away.
Jada and Chris were then shown touring the rainforest on an aerial tramway, and Jada was surprised to learn how truly afraid Chris is of heights.
However, Jada managed to keep Chris distracted with conversation, and he felt confident with her arms wrapped around him.
As for Shannon and Kimber, they went horseback riding on the beach. Kimber was always very open about her feelings and beliefs, but Pastor Cal admitted Shannon often dodged tough subjects through using his humor.
Kimber's fear was losing her parents, and then Shannon shared how his father had passed away four years prior and then his mother was diagnosed with cancer. Shannon really opened up and expressed how he remains optimistic.

"I'm really letting myself go here," Shannon said in a confessional, before telling Kimber about a club shooting that also hit close to home for him.
Kimber felt closer to Shannon than ever before, and she said, "I am feeling really lucky to have found him."
On Day 16, Chris and Eric talked about how they travel often for work and their careers could negatively influence their romantic relationships. Jada didn't know how she'd handle Chris' fans, social media followers and touring.

During the conversation with the guys, Jona blushed when asked if Brandin was "The One." Jona felt the weight of his feelings, but he really needed Brandin to let go emotionally with him.
"I really think Brandin might be my forever," Jona told the cameras, before telling his friends, "I might be inviting you guys to the wedding."
Eric then spoke to Pastor Cal about how previous women in his life were okay "in theory" about his need to travel back and forth from Colombia and Canada for work but then they'd realize they're really not okay with him being gone.
From what Eric had learned of Katie so far, he thought they could be a great match but worried things might change once they're in the real world.

Eric could genuinely see Katie as his future partner, but he had to really take a leap of faith and stop searching for a perfect unicorn. Eric acknowledged he needed to ask some hard questions, and Pastor Cal said his relationship couldn't be all about Eric and his needs.
Brandin and Jona then sat down with Pastor Cal to discuss religion. Brandin was apparently raised Catholic but doesn't agree with all the aspects of Catholicism -- including going to church every Sunday -- and Jona revealed his father is a preacher who quotes scripture all the time.
Jona insisted he wants a wife and children, not just another girlfriend, and Brandin said she realized in that moment she had the man whom she had dreamed about and prayed for.
Brandin acknowledged she wanted to get married as well but she wasn't ready in that exact moment to take the plunge and commit long-term.
On Day 17, Katie and Eric enjoyed a little picnic together, and Eric expressed his concern about his career having dismantled his previous relationships.
The pair then dove into specifics, with Katie disclosing she would be fine with Eric traveling one week per month. Katie admitted it would be hard, but she'd really like to spend weekends together and talk on the phone when he's gone.
Eric and Katie gained more clarity that day.

The couples later gathered on the beach, where Pastor Cal awaited them to host a "New Beginnings Ceremony" in which each person had to let go of his or her past and baggage.
Each person was asked to write down and then reveal to the group what had been holding him or her back in love and then release that problem to a fire pit.
Eric threw out selfishness, Katie rid herself of insecurity, Kimber promised to start fresh and give her relationship a chance, and Shannon let go of his fear of letting someone into his world and losing control.
Jona rid himself of feeling unworthy and undeserving of someone like Brandin, Brandin threw out her fear of losing Jona after the show and being closed off as a result.
Jada then tossed out her fear of humiliation, and Chris attempted to shut down his fear of trusting another person and assuming someone he cares about has poor intentions.
