At the time filming commenced for Happily Ever After, all three couples were expecting their first child together.
The Married at First Sight: Happily Ever After broadcast began with Danielle weighing herself during Week 2 of the process. The mom-to-be, who was five months married to Bobby and three months pregnant at this point, weighed 106 pounds.
Shawniece was 11 months married to Jephte and eight months pregnant, and Ashley was two years married and four months pregnant.
Danielle and Bobby did some house hunting because Bobby's home was 90 minutes away from her work. She wanted to find a house in a nice neighborhood and near a great school district. Danielle also wanted a house with newer construction so they didn't have to put a lot of work into it.
Bobby, however, was concerned about the price point, and the house Danielle fell in love with was a little overbudget.
Shawniece was then shown having an ultrasound appointment with her mother -- and best friend -- present. Jephte said it was so great to see their daughter was strong because it was a scary time when Shawniece's pregnancy was at risk and she could "miscarry at any time," he said.

Shawniece noted the baby's arrival was helping their relationship, but she didn't want the baby to be the reason why their relationship continues and Jephte stays with her.
Shawniece had no doubt in her mind Jephte was going to be a wonderful father, but he had no role models in his life to mirror when it comes to being an excellent husband.
Meanwhile, Anthony and Ashley celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary. Anthony gushed about how he loved his wife, and the couple opened their gifts at a restaurant.

Anthony bought Ashley spa services so she could be massaged and pampered right up until the birth of their child.
Although Anthony didn't want to find out their baby's gender until September 1, the five-month mark in her pregnancy, Ashley jumped the gun and bought him a "Daddy's Little Princess" onesie, revealing they have a girl on the way.
Anthony's reaction to the gift appeared to be, "Are you f-cking kidding me?!" Ashley seemed nervous and started to cry, because Anthony didn't look happy. In fact, he looked pissed.

Ashley wanted to feel like they were in it together and she hated keeping it a secret. She also wanted to be able to prepare for their little girl's arrival.
Anthony was frustrated, but since there was nothing he could do about it, he let his anger go and just melted down into sobs and tears. Anthony was thrilled about the idea of welcoming a daughter.
Afterward, Pastor Calvin Roberson paid Bobby and Danielle a visit to their home in Dallas, TX, and decided to speak with them individually in the hope they'd open up more and provide some honest answers.
"There's only so much anybody can take without eventually the dam breaking. I don't want you to start sacrificing your own desire just for the sake she is okay," Cal told Bobby.

Danielle then revealed she's not sure whether she's going to work or stay home when the baby arrives. Danielle has always been very career oriented and loves making her own money, so she acknowledged it would be difficult to give up that part of her life.

Danielle also could not think of a time Bobby pushed back on something she wanted. Pastor Cal worried Bobby was doing too much to make his wife happy but things weren't being reciprocated from Danielle.
Dr. Pepper Schwartz then showed up to Anthony and Ashley's place in Chicgo, IL. Dr. Pepper thought Ashley "disrespected" Anthony by disclosing the gender. Anthony was annoyed by the revelation, but he was more focused on just becoming a great father.
Anthony hoped he would have solid communication with Ashley once the baby comes because one parent can't undermine the other. Anthony didn't want their daughter to think one parent had more control than the other.
Meanwhile, Shawniece and Jephte hosted a dinner for their two families at their home in Boston, MA. The family noticed neither reality TV star was wearing his or her wedding ring, and Shawniece's mother insisted taking rings off should have never been an option.
"The hardest thing for me was to hear you didn't want Shawniece half the time," Shawniece's mom told Jephte, before Shawniece said Jephte's behavior was "a smack in the face."

Jephte admitted there wasn't a spark at first, which is why he slowed their romance down on Married at First Sight and hesitated to be intimate, but his feelings for Shawniece have grown. Jephte wanted to fight for this marriage and spend forever with Shawniece.
Dr. Jessica Griffin then stopped by Shawniece and Jephte's place for a chat. Shawniece said she had a difficult time asking for help but she needed Jephte and was trying to allow him to take care of her. Shawniece's pregnancy made her more vulnerable.
"Finding Jephte was the best thing, and everything happens for a reason," Shawniece noted.
Jephte insisted he would show Shawniece love and be there for her no matter what. The couple weren't at the place where they wanted to be just yet, but it was clear Shawniece and Jephte were committed to each other for the long-term, whether it be as husband and wife or mom and dad.

Bobby and Danielle discovered they still had "things to work on when it comes to communicating," according to Bobby.
Afterward, Shawniece and Jephte were shown building their baby's crib together. Jephte was glad he could assist his independent wife with the job.
That night, Danielle and Bobby welcomed his mother, sister and brother-in-law into their home for dinner. Although the couple didn't know the baby's sex, Bobby was convinced they were going to have a boy -- but Danielle acknowledged she had a dream about being pregnant with a girl.
Danielle said she liked the name Madeline for a girl.
The pair then revealed to Bobby's family they were planning to move so they could have more storage space. Bobby's family was surprised since they already had a nice three-bedroom home, and Danielle grew a little frustrated saying the decision was up to the husband and wife.
A good point was made that Danielle and Bobby were going to pay more for the same amount of bedrooms in a new location, but Bobby also thought his family had nothing to do with their decision.
"Whether they agree with me or not, I still want to move," Danielle told the cameras.
The episode concluded with Ashley and Anthony attending a class about how to take care of a baby, such as feeding and clothing a newborn. Anthony wanted to be fully prepared because there would be days when he works from home and takes care of the baby on his own.
Ashley was thrilled Anthony wanted to be a "hands-on" dad, because that's something she had looked for in a lifelong partner.
