Married at First Sight featured Amber Bowles becoming hysterical after Matthew Gwynne left her for a night and didn't answer her calls, and Jamie Thompson and Elizabeth Bice getting into two big arguments in which Jamie left their apartment during Wednesday night's broadcast on Lifetime.

Season 9 of Married at First Sight stars Matt a 32-year-old professional basketball player from Raleigh, NC, and Amber, a 27-year-old eighth grade English teacher currently living in the Charlotte area, as well as Elizabeth, a 30-year-old account executive for her dad's company from South Carolina who was raised in Mooresville, NC, and Jamie, a 35-year-old technical consultant from Columbia, SC.

The season also stars Gregory Okotie, a 32-year-old math learning center owner from Fort Washington, MD, and Deonna McNeill, a 30-year-old operations manager currently living in the Charlotte area, as well as Iris Caldwell, a 27-year-old who works for a nonprofit from Raleigh, NC, and Keith Manley, a 27-year-old high school basketball coach from Greensboro, NC.

The couples had been paired by Married at First Sight experts Pastor Calvin Roberson, Dr. Pepper Schwartz and Dr. Viviana Coles.

Married at First Sight, Episode 7

Married at First Sight's Episode 7 broadcast began on Day 13 of marriage, and the couples still had six weeks to decide whether they'd like to stay married or get divorced.

Keith said life with Iris had been "very natural." But Keith was going through some hardship, as his grandmother wasn't doing well and had been hospitalized due to her cancer battle.

Although Keith and Iris had only been married for a short amount of time, he felt he could confide in Iris and seek support from her. Keith therefore asked Iris if she'd like to visit his grandmother with him, and she of course said yes.

It was "a vulnerable area" for Keith since he and his grandmother were really close, and it meant a lot to Iris that Keith was treating her like a real part of his family already.

The men and the women get together

The Married at First Sight men then met up with each other at the gym to discuss their relationships while the women chatted over coffee.

Matt and Amber revealed how Amber had gotten upset over Matt putting some of his toiletries into the guest bathroom instead of wanting to share a space with Amber.

Deonna didn't understand the issue since she did the same thing, and after listening to Iris say she and Keith were using different bathrooms because Keith liked his own personal space at times, Amber realized she had overreacted.

Amber knew Matt was "coming from a good place," and so she was willing to change her mind about the guest-bathroom fiasco.

Jamie and Elizabeth then shared with their co-stars how they had consummated their marriage. Elizabeth admitted the sex was awesome and continued to get "more awesome" each time they had a physical encounter.

Iris and Keith discussed how Iris had found an empty condom box and it made her upset. Iris was shocked by the incident, but Elizabeth thought it was great Keith was both very sexually active and safe at the same time.

The girls agreed it wouldn't be healthy to dive into the details of their husbands' history because their relationships started at the altar.

Greg and Deonna talk

While Greg and Sandy bonded, Deonna came home and surprised Greg with a giant "Happy Birthday Hubbs" cookie and Greg was so impressed she had remembered his birthday and made it special.

Deonna then revealed to Greg she had moved past comfortable and liked her husband.

"I may even say I really like my husband," Deonna said.

Deonna told the cameras it's "a really big deal" to say she really likes her husband at this stage in the game. Deonna felt she had built a trust and connection with Greg because they had been so honest and open with each other.

"So does this mean you are sexually attracted to me girl? Just saying. You want to jump my bones, huh?" Greg asked.

"Well, yes, that is what that means," Deonna noted.

Greg noticed Deonna had been showing him a lot more affection, but Greg admitted Deonna could show him a little bit more -- without having to go all the way to sex.

Greg said there were levels from pecks to having sex they could explore, but Deonna wanted to take things slow due to mistakes she had made in relationships in her past.

Deonna confessed to Greg sex came early in her past relationships and then a connection developed afterwards, but since those romances never worked out, so she wanted to do the opposite with him.

Deonna didn't want to like Greg because of their sexual chemistry, but Greg was a bit worried Deonna's focus on her past could become "a huge issue" in their marriage.

Deonna, however, said she would put effort into improving that area of their relationship and "stretch" herself out of her comfort zone.

"We're definitely going to have sex tonight," Greg joked to the cameras.

"No, that's not happening," Deonna said in a confessional with a big laugh.

Keith was later shown saying he felt Iris was "the perfect person" for him because she had been so supportive. Iris provided a peaceful atmosphere for her husband and gave him a hug or kiss whenever he needed it.

Iris said she was in this "for the long haul" and she truly cared about Keith, his family and the situation he was going through.

When the pair met with Keith's grandmother, it was a very emotional family gathering. Iris was just happy she felt accepted into that part of Keith's world.

On Day 15, Elizabeth and Jamie were having fun together in their new apartment, and Jamie said it was awesome being with Elizabeth. He loved how she was "weird, interesting and funny."

Jamie and Elizabeth were about to welcome their parents into their new home, but Jamie was a little nervous because Elizabeth's father had been "intense" the last time they saw each other.

Amber and Matt talk about kids

Amber then brought Matt to her aunt's home to spend time with her family. Matt was the first man Amber ever brought home, so it was a really big deal. Amber, however, didn't think Matt showed much emotion, although he claimed to be very excited.

On the drive over, Amber asked Matt how he felt about kids. Matt said he'd like to have children one day but he wanted to be able to provide for them and achieve and accomplish more things in life first.

"I know it's going to be up the road for me, like at least another five to seven to eight years before I have children," Matt said.

"Hold on for a second. Eight years?! Are you kidding?!" Amber said, admitting she didn't want to wait that long and in eight years she would be 35 years old. "You almost need to be with someone younger."

Matt said kids didn't scare him but being tied and connected to that person whom he welcomes a kid with for the rest of his life no matter what scares him.

"It's not like you can just say, 'I don't want to deal with you anymore,' and move on. You can't. You have a child together, so you are automatically bonded by default to that other human being for the rest of your life," Matt explained to Amber.

But then Amber was shown venting in a confessional, "If we are married then doesn't that mean we are bonded for life? What does that even mean? What does he think marriage is?"

Amber played it cool in the car but she was clearly displeased and bothered by the bomb Matt had just dropped. Amber didn't want to wait eight years to have kids, and she was feeling really confused.

Amber, however, put on a good face for her family. She talked to her twin sister Megan first and revealed Matt was easy to live with and they were being physical intimate every other day.

Amber said she was "really hurt" when she found out Matt's feelings on children and it made her wonder whether they weren't a good match after all. Amber didn't know where she stood with Matt, and that worried her as well.

Jamie and Elizabeth have a party

Meanwhile, Jamie looked forward to spending some one-on-one time with her father so they could bond and he could grow to trust and like Jamie.

Elizabeth shared with Jamie's parents she was starting a new job with her father in marketing and sales the next week, but Jamie's dad admitted he didn't hold Elizabeth to the same standard as his other employees.

Jamie's stepmother wondered if Elizabeth was too much of a free spirit for Jamie, but the couple appeared to be on the same page about having children when they both agreed to wait two to three years. (However, Elizabeth and Jamie actually felt at that time they didn't want to have children at all).

Elizabeth told her parents and Jamie's parents they were absolutely going to stay together and Jamie couldn't leave her. Elizabeth joked that if Jamie presented her with divorce papers, she wouldn't sign them.

Jamie also insisted he wanted to stay with Elizabeth and they were having a lot of fun together. Elizabeth's father was actually really happy to see that his daughter had genuine strong feelings for her husband.

Amber throws Greg a birthday party

Deonna then threw Greg a birthday party for all of their friends. Deonna thought everyone merged well and enjoyed each other's company.

Deonna's friends could see a big change and a lot of growth in Deonna, who revealed she had taken herself out of her comfort zone physically in the last week.

The pair gushed about each other to their friends, but Greg admitted he wished Deonna would be more affectionate with him. Greg's friends also thought it was weird Deonna didn't like to receive compliments.

Keith and Iris have a housewarming party

Keith and Iris were then shown having a housewarming party for their family and friends. Iris was a bit panicked because she liked to have things in order, but she was ultimately excited.

Iris' mother Renee was so proud of her daughter's relationship and she thought Keith was "such a cutie." He apparently felt like a son to her already.

Iris told the group she was getting more comfortable with Keith, but it was clear she was in no rush to consummate their marriage since she was still a virgin.

But Iris got angry later in the night because Keith's friends helped themselves to the refrigerator and drank her lemonade. Iris thought it was disrespectful because she and Keith had purchased specific items for the party.

Amber worries Matt may not be her match

Meanwhile, Amber vented to the cameras about how she was scared she and Matt may not be each other's perfect match. She realized they weren't on the same page about their marriage and future expectations.

Amber told her family she only knew Matt a two or three on a scale from 1-10, but Matt felt he knew Amber a five or six because she talked a lot.

Matt seemed very comfortable around Amber's family and that put her at ease and made her heart happy.

"I needed this more than I could ever put into words," Amber said of the successful family gathering.

Elizabeth and Jamie fight

But things took a drastic turn that night Elizabeth and Jamie's relationship.

Elizabeth asked Jamie about his parents' divorce and how that divorce affected his own personal view of marriage, but it was apparently a painful and sensitive subject. Jamie didn't know why Elizabeth was probing into that topic, so he decided to probe into things that were bothering him.

Jamie asked Elizabeth what she did for work exactly because all he knew was that she worked for her dad's company.

Jamie found out Elizabeth was not exactly a sales executive as she had painted herself on their wedding day.

"Is this a hand out or is this something you're actually trying to achieve?" Jamie asked.

Elizabeth said it's something she was trying to achieve although her dad was also doing her a favor. Elizabeth said she took an opportunity her family handed her.

"You took nepotism; you didn't take an opportunity," Jamie snapped.

"Okay, do you have less respect for me now?" Elizabeth asked.

Elizabeth was starting to realize that when Jamie felt hurt, he lashed out, and she didn't appreciate that. Elizabeth said Jamie was going to push her away because she didn't need his approval on whether she was working for her father or someone else.

"Keep trying that. It's not very nice. I'm going to f-cking prove you wrong," Elizabeth said. "I've never not been offered a job after an interview."

"Was your dad giving those interviews?" Jamie asked.

Elizabeth got mad and swore at Jamie. She said she couldn't have a logical conversation with Jamie when he was acting so emotional.

"I love Jamie, but right now, I don't know if this is going to work. I really don't," Elizabeth told the cameras.

When she asked Jamie what was bothering him, he said she should know. Elizabeth understood in that moment she had pushed too much on the topic about his parents, but she said she didn't mean anything by it and was trying to understand his perspective on marriage.

Jamie was clearly mad and so he got up and left.

Keith and Iris talk about lemonade

Meanwhile, Keith later told Iris that his friends were welcome to everything in his refrigerator, but Iris wasn't okay with people going through her stuff and taking their things.

Iris wanted their friends to respect their boundaries as a married couple, but Keith couldn't believe she was that upset over juice.

Keith acknowledged Iris was raised without a sibling and so she wasn't used to sharing.

Keith feared their differences may end up hurting their relationship down the line.

But everything went smoothly for Greg and Deonna. Deonna saw a happy, new side of Greg at the party, and so she said she "wouldn't be opposed" to something physical happening that night.

Jamie and Elizabeth fight again

Later on, Jamie returned home with flowers, but he asked Elizabeth to take their marriage more seriously. He wanted to avoid issues in the future.

Jamie told Elizabeth it hurt him when she joked he wasn't attracted to her or didn't want a future with her. But Elizabeth thought Jamie was attacking her, and she said she didn't understand "what the f-ck" he wanted from her.

Elizabeth asked Jamie to "get on the positivity train" and stop bringing her down. Elizabeth felt beaten down in her emotions and told the cameras she had nothing else to give. Elizabeth wanted Jamie to be happy with her and stop ruining her evenings.

"Get over yourself. Do you not have anything better to do than just sit here and break down our relationship?! I thought we were going to have a really great day, but you turned it into a f-cking therapy session," Elizabeth vented.

Jamie asked Elizabeth to take some accountability, and she said their relationship wasn't a joke.

Jamie said he was tired and when he tried to be intimate with Elizabeth, a lot of excuses would come up.

"We do have a lot of sex, Jamie," Elizabeth said.

"We had sex like four times, five times max," Jamie replied.

"Are you kidding me?! Are you, like, a sexaholic? We have sex at least once a day... I'm just a sex machine, that's what I feel like to you," Elizabeth griped.

Elizabeth said Jamie didn't romance her or initiate intimacy such as a back massage. She accused him of being "bam, bam, done" in the bedroom and not satisfying her needs.

Jamie then stood up and insisted he wasn't going to put up with that behavior. Jamie wanted an apology, but Elizabeth didn't know what she had to apologize for.

Jamie threatened to take his cat and leave, and Elizabeth yelled, "Just take your stuff and f-cking go Jamie! Just go! You are so f-cking sensitive sometimes... Always leaving, always avoiding, that's what you always do."

Amber gets upset when Matt doesn't come home

On Day 17 of marriage, Amber and Matt also had a breakdown in communication. After Amber returned home from a workout around 5PM, Matt never returned home from his outing with a friend.

Amber said she had called Matt four or more times and he never answered his phone or texted her back. Amber said Matt was ignoring her and she just wanted to know he was okay and safe.

Once Amber attempted to call later, Matt's phone apparently went straight to voicemail.

Amber then called her father on the phone and cried, "I don't even know why I like him! I just don't have anything left to give! I just want to hear from Matt!'

Once it became 2AM in the morning, Matt was still nowhere to be found, and Amber was worried.

"I feel like my husband doesn't love me or doesn't even care about me," Amber later cried to the cameras. "I don't want to do this anymore. He does not care about me at all."
