They were matched by the following Married at First Sight experts: Psychologist Dr. Jessica Griffin, sociologist Dr. Pepper Schwartz, and marriage counselor Pastor Calvin Roberson.
The episode kicked off documenting Day 4 of the marriages.
Amber and Dave met up with Bobby and Danielle for a nice dinner out in Cancun, while Mia and Tristan were trying to rebuild their relationship following Mia's shocking arrest.
The two couples at dinner wondered where Mia and Tristan were, as they missed out on two joint events.
Amber then called Mia on the phone and Mia explained how she had been detained in the Texas airport. Mia didn't get into the details of what happened, but she insisted Tristan was doing okay and she just had some things to figure out.
"I'm trying to stay strong," Mia said, while Amber's phone was on speakerphone.
Back in the United States, Tristan and Mia decided to use the remainder of their honeymoon to just have a "mini-moon" in downtown Dallas.

"I'm feeling very relieved that Tristan is taking this situation very well, but I feel bad that Tristan missed out on the honeymoon experience, so I'm hoping from here on out, I can make it up to him. We both deserve to focus on our future and put our arrest behind us. Anything can happen as long as you stay committed and have faith," Mia told the cameras.
Tristan got married to a stranger understanding it would be a complete leap of faith, so he decided to be there for his wife when she needed him most.

"I want this marriage with Mia to work... We've only been married a couple of days, but we've really developed a deep connection in a short period of time because of all this," he said.
Mia said Tristan made her feel safe, protected and loved.
The following day, Dave and Amber headed to some Mayan ruins to explore and have fun, and he noted their connection so far "exceeded [his] expectations."
Dave then called Tristan on the phone to chat about his situation, and Dave couldn't believe how well Tristan had handled Mia's arrest.

"If Amber had gotten arrested as we were getting on the plane to go to our honeymoon, I'd probably be talking to an annulment attorney right now," Dave told the cameras.
"I don't think I would have stuck around; that's a pretty big deal right after meeting someone. I think the fact Tristan is willing to stay with Mia through this tough period, it does say a lot about his character. I think it does say he... wants to see things through, which is unexpected but really cool."
Amber and Dave met Bobby and Danielle at the ruins for some exploration, and Danielle was shocked to hear about the incident regarding Mia's experience at the airport. Danielle couldn't even envision Mia getting arrested because she was so sweet.

Bobby felt good about providing for Danielle and supporting her, and she in turn felt she had found a match made in heaven.
Later that night, Amber and Dave took a salsa class together. Dave was less than thrilled about the activity, but he wanted to make Amber happy and appreciated her trying to challenge him. Dave was uncomfortable during the class, but Amber knew her husband was putting a lot of effort into it.

Dave was sweating and embarrassed, and before long, he grew very pissed off. Amber thought he was overreacting and his attitude was a little disappointing.
"I'm f-cking done with this guys," Dave told Amber and their dance teacher.
Amber hoped Dave was just having an off day, so she remained supportive. Dave was grateful for her concern and the fact she didn't get angry with him for his negative reaction to the class.
Meanwhile, Tristan and Mia went out on a dinner date, and she told her husband that he was showing her unconditional love, which made her so happy and admire him. Mia's feelings for Tristan grew dramatically because of his maturity.
"I love being with Mia. She's absolutely amazing, and in all honesty, she's someone I could see being with for the rest of my life," Tristan said in a confessional.
Back in Cancun, Bobby and Danielle were feeling natural chemistry, and they decided to take a bubble bath together decorated with rose petals. Bobby knew physical intimacy between them would happen organically, and Danielle was on the same page because she felt very strongly for her husband.

"Bobby is so perfect and it feels very meant to be at this point. I really feel like I have a partner... We are falling for each other, and I think every day emotionally, things are growing. It has been incredible so far," Danielle gushed.
Honeymoon Week was also going amazing for Amber and Dave. Her smile lit Dave up, but they hadn't discussed religion much.

Things got a little tense between the couple over dinner when Amber said many religious people are hypocrites because they feel a bit superior to others and therefore judge others who are different from them. Dave then turned around and said Amber was actually being hypocritical in that moment.
"Maybe her feelings toward religion or openness to religion can change," Dave said. "But after talking to Amber, I feel I may have undersold to the experts how important religion is to me."
When Dave asked Amber if their differences would make her want to walk away from their relationship, she replied, "Not at all."

Dave and Amber both believed they had each other's backs, and Amber noted she could see herself falling in love with Dave and raising a family with him.
On Day 6 of the marriages, the two couples prepared to leave Cancun and head back to Dallas.
At least for Dave and Amber, they were excited to return to real life, especially since they had already built a solid foundation for their marriage.
Danielle and Bobby were also excited to join their lives together at home.
"So yes, we freakin' did it on the honeymoon! We had sex," Danielle told the cameras as they were leaving Cancun.
"Just to clear things up for everybody, [small] ring size has no correlation to anything else. I think it's pretty safe to say this is the strongest I've ever felt about anybody... I really lucked out with the partner I got... I feel like a wife."

"So last night, Mia and I were talking in bed and she came clean there were some things that she just was not honest about in regards to her arrest," Tristan said in a confessional.
"She does know the accuser, and they did have a brief relationship, and this is why she felt embarrassed to tell me. Even though I appreciate her honesty, it still really hurt that it took her all week just to come clean and tell me."
Once the three Married at First Sight experts found out Mia had told Tristan "an untrue version" of what happened, they met with the couple.
When Mia sat down with Dr. Jessica alone, she started to cry because she had found everything she wanted in a partner in Tristan, but she feared he may want to end their marriage.
"Two cops come up to me, and they were like, 'We have a warrant. We need to talk to you.' That's when they tell me about three charges of stalking," Mia explained.

"My mugshot gets taken and then they put me in, like, a holding cell. I never had a run-in with the cops before, and even when they took my fingerprints, they said my background was clean and they couldn't find anything, so that was even more confusing."
Dr. Jessica thought Mia had been humiliated and so it made sense why her story changed over time.
"So I go into self-preservation mode, where I'm just like, 'Deny, deny, deny, deny.' Because from my point of view, these are not real. These are fake. If I continue talking about this person that made these charges, it would just get blown out of proportion," Mia told Dr. Jessica.
"So I was just like, 'I have no association with this person, none whatsoever.' That's where the lying came in, and I totally own up to it -- I did lie."
Mia then continued in her explanation to Dr. Jessica, "I was with my ex, and when we broke up, I rebounded with someone else. I didn't want to talk about it, and so I think that's why I went into that protective and denial mode, which was wrong of me. I shouldn't have done that."

Meanwhile, Tristan was having a tough time, saying Mia "lied" to him and he felt "betrayed."
"Secrets kill. And I said, 'Mia, please, just get it all out there because the trust has been broken. What else have you lied about? What else are you keeping from me?'" Tristan told Calvin, adding that any marriage could survive as long as there's trust and honesty.
"With that trust broken, I'm just not sure I'll be able to stay in this marriage... I don't want to keep living in this pain."
Mia had apparently informed Tristan she was in "a heightened state of paranoia" since the arrest and "was scared."
"She told me she was falling in love with me, and I told her, 'I do love you. I wouldn't be here if I didn't. I had an out but I didn't take it and didn't want it because I do love you.' I am committed to her and want to be married to her -- still," Tristan revealed.
"I told her, 'I can deal with anything from your past, but I can't deal with you lying to me...' I've seen her cry every day, and I don't want to see her cry anymore. Nobody can hate Mia. There's a lot of love there."

Once Mia and Tristan sat down with the experts together, Tristan confirmed Mia was going to continue being his wife, and she was so relieved. Mia gushed about Tristan being her "rock," saying they had been physically intimate and he was so loving, caring and understanding.
Tristan forgave Mia and held "no ill will towards her," and the episode concluded with Mia not being 100 percent honest with him.
