Married at First Sight star Amber Bowles believes her husband Matthew Gwynne's sweet comments during their final dinner before "Decision Day" were basically a stream of lies.

During Wednesday night's episode of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered hosted by Jamie Otis, Amber watched back a Season 9 clip in which Matt spoke some kind words to her as they enjoyed a "romantic" dinner of beers and pub food at a brewery before having to decide whether they'd like to stay married or get a divorce.

"It's hard to know if his words are genuine because his actions haven't really matched the words," Amber explained.
"I think that's why in the moment I'm just smirking, because it's like bullsh-t."

Amber's Married at First Sight co-star Elizabeth Bice also appeared on the Unfiltered broadcast and admitted she was holding back while watching that clip.
"What is it that really gets your blood boiling?" Jamie asked.
"Matt's full of sh-t! I'm sorry," Elizabeth said, before calling Matt out for disappearing hours on end and not coming back to his shared apartment with Amber at night several times.
"Just the fact that I know he was out and about and wouldn't come home for Amber and he left his wedding ring [behind]. One plus one equals two, and that equals that. He just sucks!"
Amber clapped her hands with enthusiasm as Elizabeth slammed Matt, only to seemingly realize seconds later she probably shouldn't have done that in order to avoid spoiling the ending of Married at First Sight's ninth season.

The show's "Decision Day" episode -- in which Amber chose to divorce Matt and confront him about all of his alleged indiscretions -- aired immediately after Unfiltered on Lifetime, however the Unfiltered episode was filmed after "Decision Day" took place.

When Amber had her last dinner with Matt before "Decision Day," Matt acknowledged they had a lot in common and then explained what he liked most about marriage.
"I like having somebody in your corner all the time, having somebody that you know has got your back and you don't have to do stuff, like go grocery shopping, alone, and you don't have to be alone all the time," Matt explained to Amber.
"Yeah, I enjoy my solitude, but that's one of my motivating factors to doing this, is because I did get lonely a lot of times."

Amber smirked at this point in the conversation, and then Matt continued, "Being married, you've got your person to do whatever with. That's what I like about it."
Amber seemed to appreciate the irony of the situation given she had been the lonely spouse in their marriage, always waiting for Matt to come home late at night or at least call and text her when he was gone.
Matt then told the cameras he and Amber made a great team and she was always there to support him.
"Obviously it's been quite the ride for both of us. We've had some awesome times, some not-so-awesome times," he said.
"I know it ain't easy dealing with me, so I appreciate that, for sticking with it. I feel like the both of us are working through lots of things at the same time, and I think we've done a good job."

Matt concluded he was happy with the choices and sacrifices they had both made, saying, "It's worth it."
At the time, Amber hoped Matt's words rang true "so badly," because she didn't want to walk away from her marriage.
"I want this to work with my whole being," she said in that episode.
In addition to Amber and Matt, one other couple got divorced on "Decision Day": Iris Caldwell and Keith Manley.
Two couples, however -- Elizabeth and Jamie Thompson as well as Deonna McNeill and Gregory Okotie -- chose to stay together.
The Season 9 reunion special for Married at First Sight is set to air next week on Wednesday, September 18 on Lifetime and feature updates on the current status of each relationship.
