On the April 15 episode of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, a Season 10 clip aired of Jessica leaving the newlywed couple's shared apartment the night before "Decision Day" because the pair had been asked to sleep apart.

Jessica said she and her husband had taken "a few steps back" in their relationship after fighting over Austin's need to travel frequently for work, so they didn't part ways on the best of terms.

"I just see you sitting on that bed watching her pack a lot of stuff in a big bag. What's going on in your head?" Unfiltered host Jamie Otis asked Austin.

"It's just it was a big day," Austin replied. "I mean, we spent every day together for the past however long, and just to see her go, yeah, it just really felt weird."

Jamie pointed out Austin and Jessica didn't kiss -- or even hug-- each other goodbye.

"Yeah, I don't know. I think a lot was going into just thinking about the decision. We did so much work up to this point," Austin explained.

When asked how he thought Jessica felt about everything, Austin said, "I'm pretty confident that I know how Jessica feels about me. So, I am pretty confident going into 'Decision Day.'"

Jessica, for example, had already told Austin that she was in love with him, even though Austin wasn't quite there yet.

"But at the same time, not having the greatest last dinner I guess before we left, yeah, that puts some bad thoughts in your head," Austin shared, referencing how he and Jessica argued at a restaurant over his job's travel requirements.

Married at First Sight expert Pastor Calvin Roberson joined Austin on Unfiltered and explained why the experts asked each couple to spend the night apart before "Decision Day."

"If they've done this correctly then they've built enough momentum in their relationships so that the night apart is not a big deal," Pastor Cal said.

"Like with Austin and Jessica, if this was school and they've gotten As their entire academic career, I'm not worried about whether or not they're going to pass, as opposed to maybe [Meka Jones and Michael Watson]."

Pastor Cal continued with a laugh, "They've had some tough quizzes... Like pop quizzes!"

"So the night apart can very easily go either way with [Meka and Michael], because you don't have the momentum that you've built in your relationship, where this is like, 'Oh this is [nothing]. I'm going to miss you being away,'" he said.

"If you're feeling like, 'Phew, I've got a night away,' that's a problem."

On Married at First Sight's tenth-season "Decision Day," which aired Wednesday night on Lifetime, Jessica said she'd like to stay married to Austin, who in turn professed his love for his wife while unveiling his final decision.

"Jess, it means the world to me, and I see you love me. I feel the commitment and I truly see you have my back, and it makes me know that I love you," Austin said.

"I love you too," Jessica replied.

"Of course I want to stay married to you, because I love you," Austin noted, before the couple kissed.

Austin said it felt great to finally reveal his true feelings, and Jessica seemed overjoyed. Pastor Cal and the other experts, Dr. Viviana Coles and Dr. Pepper Schwartz, cried with happiness and congratulated the pair, and Pastor Cal said he saw a bright future for these two.

"I definitely found what I was looking for, and more. I truly do love her and I just can't wait to see what comes next. This is the beginning of the rest of our lives," Austin said in a confessional.

"With great risk comes great reward, and I'm excited we're going to do this together," Jessica added.

Katie Conrad and Derek Sherman also chose to stay married on "Decision Day," which was about two weeks after Mindy Shiben ended her marriage to Zach Justice.

Two other couples also opted for divorce at the end of the experiment: Meka and Michael as well as Taylor Dunklin and Brandon Reid.

Married at First Sight's Season 10 reunion special is set to air on Wednesday, April 22 at 8PM ET/PT on Lifetime.
