Married at First Sight star Clare has broken down over Cameron, claiming he had "openly lied" to her face during their marriage.

While the pair has been shown getting along on Married at First Sight's seventeenth season, their communication skills need work and they both have different love languages.

Cameron desires physical touch, while Clare -- who is hesitant and guarded in the intimacy department -- wants her man to be verbally expressive and open.

During Clare and Cameron's first housewarming party in Denver, CO, Clare's friends asked Cameron how his father felt about his marriage and the fact he had married a stranger.

Cameron revealed to the group that his father had no idea about his wedding because he was on his deathbed, and the revelation appeared to shock Clare to her core.

"Now is where I'm really starting to see the shift in character. I think that I'm just becoming more confused as the days go on with Cameron," Clare admitted on the December 14 episode of Married at First Sight: Afterparty.

On Afterparty, Clare watched back a Married at First Sight Season 17 clip of her confrontation with Cameron after their party.

"I feel like there are some things that you say, like, you said in that group that we haven't discussed you and I," Clare says.

"Yeah, well she asked, so I told her," Cameron replies.

"I know, but I've asked about your past," Clare insists, recalling how she had asked Cameron on their wedding day if his parents knew about the marriage and Cameron said yes and that he'd like to have a second wedding in New Zealand so his family could attend.

"So I don't know, that kind of [took me aback]," she continues to vent, "I was like, 'Wow, we have not had that conversation, so I'm surprised he's bringing that up.'"

On Afterparty, Clare broke down into tears after watching that footage and having to relive that moment all over again.

"I just feel like I'm trying to understand him and he just doesn't want me to understand him," Clare explained to host Keshia Knight Pulliam.

"I'm also thrown and taken aback by how he, on the wedding day, said that [his parents] knew and then openly lied to me a few weeks later."

Clare confessed, "That just makes me question a lot of things."

Keshia noted how it was "fair" of Clare to feel that way, and so she asked what it would take for her to be able to "get to the other side of this" conflict with Cameron.

"I realize I can be very 'to the point,' like, 'Tell me this. Tell me that.' It's my job, and so I really try to dive in. And I think that I need to practice patience and understanding," Clare said.

Clare also noted how she could "continue to show up" in her marriage in her own ways and in the best way she knew how.

"It's not met with the same sort of effort and energy, but I can only do what I can," Clare said.

Clare's attraction to Cameron grew when she saw him in his element working at his bicycle repair shop, but the housewarming party appeared to set the couple back.

Clare complained that Cameron was very unprepared for guests, and then she couldn't believe how he'd talk about his father publicly without confiding in her first.

"It's really strange to me he's bringing up really heavy things in front of people when he won't even do that with me in private. I'm just really confused, honestly. I feel like he doesn't trust me enough to tell me," Clare noted in a confessional.

Clare felt more separated from Cameron, and his family, than ever before.

Cameron, in turn, admitted he tended to be standoffish with Clare but he was working on it.

Cameron told Clare's pals that he really liked Clare and she's the smartest girl he had ever been in a relationship with; however, Cameron thought he was bearing more of an "emotional struggle" in his marriage and felt like he was "sinking."

Cameron was referring to how he doesn't want to raise his kids with religious beliefs, but Clare is a woman of faith.

Clare shared with her friends how there was mutual respect in her marriage and she was impressed by Cameron, but she wasn't sure if that was "enough" to result in a lifelong marriage.

Clare's friends ultimately wondered if Cameron was going to be forthcoming about his feelings with Clare. They hoped he'd be enough for their friend in the long run.

Married at First Sight's seventeenth season also stars Emily and Brennan, Becca and Austin, and Lauren and Orion, who had decided to divorce shortly after their honeymoon in Mexico.
