Season 9 of Married at First Sight was filmed in Charlotte, NC, and premiered on June 12.
The wedding of Elizabeth, a 29-year-old from South Carolina who was raised in Mooresville, NC, and Jamie Thompson, a 35-year-old from Columbia, SC, was shown during Episode 2.
Jamie and Elizabeth were matched by Married at First Sight experts Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Calvin Roberson, and newcomer Dr. Viviana Coles based on compatibility, goals, hobbies, religious views and more.
After meeting for the first time at their wedding ceremony, Jamie and Elizabeth's life together was documented over the course of eight weeks -- including their honeymoon and moving in together.

Elizabeth was looking for a spouse who would embrace her bubbly and very outgoing personality, while Jamie admitted he hadn't always made the right choices when it came to dating and so he hoped the experts would find him a passionate travel companion.
During an exclusive interview with Reality TV World, Elizabeth shined some light into who she is and what she's looking for in an ideal marriage. Below is what she had to say.

Reality TV World: You admitted you are a daddy's girl. What would happen if your father didn't like or approve of your husband after getting to know Jamie? Would that be a dealbreaker for you in your marriage?
Elizabeth Bice: I am a huge daddy's girl, if my dad didn't like Jamie I am sure he would express that to me, but at the end of the day he is always team Beth no matter what. I don't know if it would be a total dealbreaker but it would make life slightly more difficult.

Reality TV World: What are your views on gender roles? Do you view yourself as being a more traditional wife and wanting your husband to pay most of the bills, or did you want a 50/50 partnership? As viewers saw last season, this topic created a lot of problems for Jasmine McGriff and Will Guess.
Elizabeth Bice: I don't feel that in this day in age there should be gender roles. In a relationship, I think once you start figuring each other out you can help that person better their life with traits you might have and vice versa.
There will be times that your partner needs help and being able to set aside "gender roles" and step up will create a better relationship I think.
Your person knows that they can rely on you in tough times, and I think that's more important than "gender roles."

Reality TV World: Dr. Pepper said during the matchmaking special that she expected there would be conflict between Jamie and yourself. She didn't expect this would be the easiest relationship for either of you, but the experts chose to match you anyways. What are your thoughts on that?
Elizabeth Bice: I feel at the end of the day the experts can match you with someone you are compatible with. But it's always up to the individual to want to work on getting over those bumps in the road or the hard times.
At the end of the day, I just keep telling myself "a smooth sea never made for a skillful sailor" and I think that has helped me a lot in this experience.
