Married at First Sight star Johnny Lam has revealed why he didn't speak his piece or "call out" Bao for allegedly telling their co-stars things that were "not true."

During Wednesday night's episode of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, Johnny watched back a Season 13 clip of Bao talking about their marriage while out to lunch with their Married at First Sight co-stars about one month into the extreme experiment.

"I feel like I really have been trying. I've been giving it my all," Bao tells the group. "I cook, I do gourmet meals, I bake, I do all these things in the house."

But Johnny counters in a confessional, "That is absolutely not true. You've cooked one time."

Bao continues in her speech -- as Johnny picks a red flower apart at the table out of frustration -- "I'm learning that Johnny needs me to initiate more, essentially romance, my husband."

"There is a lot I want to say, but I want to say it first to my wife before I say anything else," Johnny says in response.

On Unfiltered, Johnny's Season 13 co-stars Myrla Feria and Zack were cracking up about the footage, but Johnny was upset and totally stone-faced.

"What's the matter?" asked Unfiltered host Jamie Otis, who starred on Season 1 of Married at First Sight and is still married to her match, Doug Hehner. "How does it feel watching that back?"

"She's bringing up things we've already talked about but she's recounting them in a way that's not true," Johnny claimed.

"And so I disagree with almost everything she's saying, but I don't want to call her out."

Zack asked, "Why not call her out?"

"She's calling you out!" Myrla pointed out in agreeance.

Johnny replied, "Because if I start doing that, we're going to start bickering in front of y'all, and no one wants to see that sh-t."

"I do!" Myrla joked. "No, I'm just kidding."

Johnny then continued, "And so the whole time, I'm just trying to do good by my marriage and I'm just fixated -- the only thing that's in front of me is this rose."

"And I just keep picking apart the petals and every time I want to say something," he added, "I just tear [off a petal]. Every time I want to say something, I tear."

Considering Johnny kept his composure and chose to remain silent at that lunch, despite having a lot to get off his chest, Jamie asked Johnny what he would have liked to say in that moment.

"The way that she says she's initiating everything, I don't think that's true. The way that she said that she's doing all of these little things, yeah, but that's not what I'm asking for!" Johnny shared.

"I'm not asking you to, say, she sews a button for me on my shorts."

Myrla suggested Bao was executing her own love languages -- acts of service and gifts -- but not Johnny's.

"I want to tell her, like, 'Yeah, these are all great, that's how you express love, but this is how I receive love. And it doesn't speak to me,'" Johnny said.

Johnny has said on the show his love language is physical touch and a slow build-up of tension and intimacy before going into the bedroom at night. Johnny has also asked Bao for open communication and to ask him questions before making judgements or assumptions.

Johnny also believed that Bao played "the victim card" too much.

Johnny said he was tired of being blamed for doing things wrong, such as "expecting too much or being too critical."

"I feel like I'm caught in her web of stuff," Johnny told the cameras on Married at First Sight's latest episode. "I feel like I'm being manipulated and I feel like I'm being played sometimes."

Johnny then told his buddy Jose outside of the restaurant that Bao was lying and trying to make herself look good, and he called her "controlling" and manipulative again as well as "calculating."

"I don't want that in a wife. She keeps giving herself credit for things she hasn't done -- like stuff she says she's going to do but she hasn't followed through on," Johnny complained.

"I want a wife who follows through on what she commits to."

Johnny called himself and Bao "a square peg and a round hole." He described his marriage as "an uphill battle" and accused his wife of being obsessed with how other people view her.

Johnny claimed Bao would "do whatever it takes" to make people like her and see her in a positive light.

Married at First Sight currently airs on Wednesday nights at 8PM ET/PT on Lifetime and also stars Zack's wife Michaela, Myrla's husband Gil Cuero, Jose's wife Rachel, and Ryan and Brett.
