Married at First Sight star Kate Sisk was initially understanding of Luke Cuccurullo's explanation for why he had accused her of having a drinking problem, but Kate now apparently feels much differently.

During a Tuesday appearance on Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, Kate watched back a Season 8 MAFS clip in which Luke attempted to explain to his wife why he had accused her of drinking too much when he knew saying she had a "problem" was a stretch.

"My perception of drinking is different from other people's. The reason that your drinking bothers me is because... when I was a freshman in college, my best friend in high school got hit by a drunk driver head on, and he passed away," Luke told his wife in the video clip.
"That really messed me up, and so that's where my issues come from. I think you're fine; I just worry, overly... I think it's coming from a good place."

At the time, Kate thanked Luke for opening up about his difficult past. She also thought Luke was coming from a place of "general concern" for her well-being.
But on Unfiltered, Kate admitted her mindset on that conversation has since changed -- drastically.
"After watching it back and thinking about it and processing it, I feel like he was manipulating me," Kate confessed to host Jamie Otis.
"I feel like he told that story to make other people sympathize with him and make himself feel better."
And Kate's Married at First Sight co-star, Kristine Killingsworth, totally backed Kate's interpretation of that conversation, saying, "I think that's exactly what happened right there."

Kristine, who is married to Keith Dewar on Season 8 of Married at First Sight, continued, "I think he thought about it and he came back and, of course, he told the story, which sucks because now you're consoling him when it was [Kate] who was the one who got hurt to begin with. How is that fair?"

Kate nodded her head in agreeance, but then Jamie decided to play devil's advocate and point out Luke and Kate seemed to be connecting more and more, little by little, as time passed in their marriage.
"I do feel that for some strange reason there was some sort of connection building," Kate shared, "because we're married, we went on a honeymoon, we live together now, we are talking about our feelings all of the time."
"So naturally, even if I don't understand him," Kate elaborated, "most of the time there is still something being built here."

Married at First Sight expert, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, however, suggested Kate shouldn't be so quick to trust Luke or buy what he's selling.
"I think you can't underestimate Luke's charm," Dr. Pepper said.
"He's an interesting guy, he can be a really... seductive guy. He can be charming towards her. We thought he was an impressive man, and we wouldn't have put these two together [otherwise]."
Dr. Pepper also wasn't pleased Luke told Married at First Sight's producers and experts about Kate's alleged drinking problem before even mentioning the so-called issue to his wife.

This isn't the first time Luke has found himself in hot water. Earlier in the season, he told Kate their first post-wedding kiss was "repulsive" and made him feel "dead inside."
Kate has been shown trying to make her marriage work on Married at First Sight despite knowing Luke isn't physically attracted to her at all.
Married at First Sight's eighth season also stars Jasmine McGriff and Will Guess as well as AJ Vollmoeller and Stephanie Sersen.
