Married at First Sight star Madison has revealed the real reason why she slept away from Allen when it would've been the newlyweds' first night together in their new Chicago apartment.

During Allen and Madison's first night in their new apartment, Allen said Madison had decided to go to a bar for Happy Hour, but she ended up being gone for more than three hours.

Married at First Sight Season 18 footage eventually showed Allen sitting in a hot tub alone late at night and admitting he was "a little disappointed" that Madison didn't want to spend time with him after just moving in together.

On the latest Married at First Sight episode, Allen revealed that Madison checked in with him around 1AM and didn't come home until the next morning.

But according to Madison, her night away from Allen wasn't about the drinks or the partying.

Madison shared on Married at First Sight: Afterparty, "To be 100 percent honest, the honeymoon was really hard for me."

Madison explained to Afterparty host Keshia Knight Pulliam, who was shocked by Madison's decision, "It might not always seem that way, but I was going through a lot of emotions."

Madison admitted that she "cried almost every day" because she felt "overwhelmed by the experience."

Madison had also never lived with a man before, and so she said it was a lot for her to sleep in the same bed with man -- who also happened to be "a stranger" -- night after night.

"I put on a brave face a lot of the time, and when we got back, Allen and I had discussions where I apologized to him," Madison said.

"I told her, 'I understand that's not how our first night should've been and I appreciate you being super understanding.'"

Madison also insisted it wasn't her intention to stay out all night and crash at her old place.

"I woke up literally on my couch with the three of us, and I was like, 'Sh-t!' It was not what I intended and I know that it wasn't a good start to us living together," Madison acknowledged.

When Madison had finally returned home after her wild night out, she explained to Allen in the morning, "I went to dinner and then went out and had a few drinks, quite a few drinks."

"Kate was having a little bit of a rough time," she elaborated, "so I took her back to my place and we hung out -- me, her and my sister-in-law. I literally slept on my couch and it was great!"

Allen appeared to be gracious and handle the situation well, and Keshia gave him props for that.

But in hindsight, Madison admitted on Afterparty that she regrets not sleeping in her shared apartment with Allen that first night back in Chicago.

When asked if she wishes she had done things differently, Madison replied, "Yeah, I think that's a no-brainer for me."

"Looking back on it and seeing it, even if I was, you know, feeling all of those emotions and anxiety, I could've just said, 'Hey, let's just keep it super easy tonight and watch a movie and decompress,'" Madison reasoned.

Madison pointed out how that would've been a better way to start the day.

"I think that would've been better than me leaving," she concluded.

On last week's Afterparty episode, Allen confessed that he was "really disappointed" and "sad" about Madison's decision to go out and leave him behind.

"I got a little bottle of wine and that was supposed to be a moment of connecting. We had a beautiful high rise with a rooftop hot tub," Allen explained.

"I was talking to these two German ladies... for about an hour-and-a-half. And I bought a six pack because the wine was gone. It was a nice evening, but it was not with the woman whom I wanted to spend the nice evening with."

Allen said it showed, in his mind, where Madison's level of effort was.

"At the end of the day, it was hurtful," Allen told Keshia.

Although they had a rocky start to living together, Madison and Allen appeared to bond when showing each other their former apartments.

Allen showed off his fancy car and Madison said she was starting to embrace his quirkiness. The couple also had good communication and were feeling comfortable around each other.

But Madison told MAFS experts Pastor Calvin Roberson and Dr. Pepper Schwartz that a romantic and physical chemistry was lacking with Allen, who insisted he was willing to compromise and make concessions for his wife.

"I love the person that you are, and I'm always going to be a little weird and a little eccentric," Allen admitted. "And in the last four days, I went to the gym four times!"

Madison said she appreciated Allen's action and effort considering she wanted to see him take care of himself a little more, and then she was very impressed by his cooking.
