Married at First Sight star Meka Jones insists Michael Watson definitely lied about teaching yoga, and now she's explaining how she caught him in the lie and why she believes he was being dishonest to begin with.

On the Wednesday, March 11 broadcast of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, Meka watched back a Season 10 clip in which she told the cameras, "Michael invited me to a yoga class at the studio he says he teaches at."
"When I got there, they looked at me like I was crazy and said there was no Michael that teaches there -- there's only one Michael that works there and he cleans the rooms."

After Michael scolded Meka in the clip for confiding in her girlfriends with their problems, Meka shouted, "I'm over you lying."

"And I'm over you!" Michael countered.
Unfiltered host Jamie Otis asked Meka for clarification on what Michael's job at the yoga studio really turned out to be.
"He said he was the teacher at the yoga studio but he's actually the one who cleans the rooms?" Jamie asked.
"Yeah," Meka replied.
"This is why I can't show him [my] softer side, because from the beginning, I've been like, 'Michael, just be open, just be honest.' Like, 'Why do you have to lie about teaching yoga?! I don't care if you teach yoga! It really doesn't matter to me!'"

As fans probably recall, Michael also claimed he had turned down a high-paying offer for a principal job at a Catholic high school because the terms in his contract changed at the last minute and were no longer desirable.
Meka, at the time, figured Michael was lying because it seemed to be the job of his dreams and would be unusual for an institution to change its offer so drastically and so suddenly without much notice.

Jamie therefore asked Meka why she believes Michael kept lying about his occupation in the beginning of their marriage.
"I think all of his life, he felt like he had to be somebody else for people to accept him and for people to like him," Meka explained.

Every time Meka put Michael on the spot looking for the truth, he seemed to shut down and tell Meka he just wasn't comfortable enough with her to be forthcoming about certain aspects of his life. He also felt Meka enjoyed setting him up for I-got-you moments.
"It's like, I can't be frustrated at him lying because he's just going to play the victim and flip it on me and get mad at me for being mad at him for lying to me," Meka alleged.
"He does not own up to it and somehow really turns it around," Jamie noted, later adding, "And he wonders why you get frustrated."
Another Season 10 clip later aired on Unfiltered and showed Michael explaining to Married at First Sight expert Dr. Pepper Schwartz he is "a sub" at the yoga studio and doesn't have a permanent class.
Michael told Pepper that like most businesses of that nature, "there is a lot of turnover with management" and Meka had a conversation with a new employee, who hadn't met him yet.

Jamie asked Meka if she thought Michael's explanation made sense in this case or was "total B-S."

"It's just lies. There were two ladies and they were both like, 'He does not teach yoga here,' and he even said to them, 'Oh, I came in early to clean up the rooms. I already cleaned up the room,'" Meka alleged.
"So, he already said that to them. He already admitted at the yoga studio that he doesn't teach there."
Meka continued, "The explanation he gave to Dr. Pepper was different than the explanation he gave to me off camera. Off camera, he said, 'No, I taught at that studio a year ago but I just moved to another studio.'"
Meka claimed Michael came up with two entirely different explanations "instead of just saying, 'I was wrong. I don't teach yoga. I don't why I lied, but I won't lie anymore going forward.'"
But after their meeting with Pepper, Meka and Michael played a game of truths in which Michael was blindfolded and Meka could ask him any question she wanted in attempt to build trust.
"Do you fully understand why it has been so hard for me to trust you?" Meka asked during the game.
"Yeah, I do," Michael replied. "So, I do take responsibility for the stuff that's happened, but I also hope there's a way to grow and move past this so we can see what this really can be."
Meka later revealed on Unfiltered she appreciated Michael's vulnerability and was glad he could finally admit he had lied -- because it meant they could move forward.
In the latest episode of Married at First Sight that aired last week, Meka and Michael enjoyed a day of boating for their one-month anniversary and Michael gifted his wife with a trip to Jamaica so they could swim with dolphins.

Meka was blown away by the kind gesture and could tell Michael was putting effort into their marriage, but she hoped it wasn't going to be "too good to be true."
Married at First Sight 10, which currently airs on Wednesday nights at 8PM ET/PT on Lifetime, also stars Taylor Dunklin and Brandon Reid, Mindy Shiben and Zach Justice, Katie Conrad and Derek Sherman, and Jessica Studer and Austin Hurd.
