Married at First Sight star Michelle Tomblin has revealed what really bothered her about David Trimble that led to her shutting down during their honeymoon in Mexico.

Michelle didn't give David a chance, nor did she try to let loose and have fun, until their honeymoon in Cancun was essentially over.

Michelle complained for days that she felt "smothered" by David and couldn't get over the fact he still lived at home in his parents' basement. Michelle was also turned off when David revealed he had an ex-girlfriend's name tattooed on his chest.
But Michelle opened up about what she was really feeling during the Tuesday, November 26 episode of Married at First Sight: Afterparty, which is hosted by Keshia Knight Pulliam.

"Every day [on the honeymoon], I was like, 'You're going to have fun today, Michelle! Just get to know David.' And then something would set me off every day and I'd go right back to a dark spot."
She added, "And it would be hard for me to get out once I'm there."
Keshia said it seemed like Michelle was "done" with David after learning he lived in his parents' basement.
"He told me 30 seconds after we got married... I lost it. I think it was the shock factor that it never crossed my mind that someone at our age would still be living at home, and so I'm having a bit of a tough time," Michelle explained.
When asked if David was her "type," Michelle said she "doesn't necessarily have a type."

Michelle shared, "I do think David is attractive, but I'm finding him less attractive that he lives at home. It's a hard pill for me to swallow right now, and so I'm having a hard time getting past that."
Michelle admitted she felt a lack of security due to David's unique living situation and he wasn't providing her with a solution or practical gameplan.
"I'm not picking up on his future plans," Michelle noted.
"I don't know when he plans on moving out, and it doesn't seem that there has been a lot of savings that he's been doing in order to leave the parents' house."
Michelle suggested that her spouse's financial situation and resources were important to her so that she could feel stability.

"My parents got divorced and I have no recollection of them ever actually being together, and I grew up in a very small town. I'm from Dunlap, Illinois. I grew up on a dirt road and we had 'Drive Your Tractor to School Day,'" Michelle explained.
"So it was very rural, and we did struggle. My mom was a single mom and she worked several jobs, and my dad worked several jobs as well."
So when David was telling Michelle that he still lived at home, she "equated that" to her "hardships of growing up."
Michelle admitted it was "hard for" and she wasn't feeling close enough to David to explain herself and have those type of conversations with him yet.
"I think we're trying to just get to know each other a little bit better, and I'm being very guarded. I'm having a hard time getting over that hump to even let him in a little bit. I'm pretty shut down," Michelle admitted.

Once the honeymoon came to an end, Michelle, who wasn't feeling comfortable in her marriage, told David that she didn't want to share a bedroom once they moved into a Chicago apartment together.
Michelle watched back Married at First Sight footage on Afterparty of herself breaking the news to David that she still felt distant from him and didn't want to sleep in the same bed.
Michelle seemed to feel guilty about how she had handled that tense conversation with David in hindsight.
"He's clearly very nervous talking to me. It's hard to watch," Michelle told Keshia.
"But David and I didn't share a bed on the honeymoon, and so the honeymoon isn't going great and so I'm feeling very anxious going back to Chicago and moving in together when we don't really have a good foundation right now."
But Michelle pointed out how she still wanted to move in with David and wasn't giving up.
"I'm just not ready to move into one bedroom together," Michelle explained.
"And in the past, I would've just left. I would've been like, 'Okay, I'm done. [This is] too hard. Let's try something new.'"
But Michelle still had hope she could get past this roadblock with David early in the MAFS experiment.
"Little by little, when we have these good moments, I am a little bit more carefree and in the moment," Michelle explained.
"I think that's what we have to do, is little by little, keep getting to know each other."

Michelle acknowledged that when she allowed herself to enjoy David's company, she could see that he's "a great guy" who is "super kind and very thoughtful."
Michelle shared, "He was the type of person who was like, 'Can I grab your suitcase? Do you want me to order you food?' He was very chivalrous and fun and easy to talk to. And he has a great sense of humor."
