Chris and Nicole have the strongest relationship of the five couples so far this season, but their honeymoon ended with Chris breaking down into tears.

During the February 15 episode of Married at First Sight: Afterparty, Nicole watched back a Season 16 clip of herself comforting Chris when he was crying outside of their hotel room in Jamaica.

"They told me I can't have dogs at the place," Chris laments in the footage, referring to the Nashville apartment he and Nicole were going to move into after their honeymoon. "They have a two-dog restriction. I can't abandon them."

"No, that's not an option," Nicole replies. "Look at me, I don't know the solution right now, but we will figure it out."

Chris responds, "I don't know what to do."

Afterparty host Keshia Knight Pulliam, a dog mom herself, admitted she thought somebody had died when she first saw Chris sobbing outside on the show.

Both Keshia and Nicole's Married at First Sight co-star, Jasmine Secrest, were cracking up with laughter.

"The situation was never funny and still is not," Nicole said. "But it was funny in the moment to be like, in a tunnel. [He] was so upset from hearing this news, and he was just distraught."

Nicole said in the heat of the moment she was thinking, "Okay, I don't know this man but I want to make it work, so I'm going to do whatever it takes. And that's what I did!"

But Keshia asked if there was a piece of Nicole that was concerned over how emotional Chris got so early into the process.

"[Did you think], 'Oh, he's a little more emotional than I thought?' I'm just curious," Keshia noted.

"Honestly, no," Nicole said firmly. "I'm a huge dog person. Because I saw that he was so emotional over something that was also so important to me, it was like, 'This man really cares about the things he loves.'"

Keshia said the scene reminded her so much of Married at First Sight's previous season, when Justin Hall had cried over a bloody dog fight that resulted in him temporarily giving his dog away.

"I'm going to stop you right there!" Nicole interjected.

"He went into this with two dogs, not knowing that I had a dog. So he, throughout the entire process, said, 'My dogs are coming with me. My dogs are coming with me.' And then he finds out [his] dogs are not coming with you."

Keshia joked about how Nicole wasn't going to let anybody go after "her man."

On the latest Married at First Sight episode, Nicole FaceTimed with her father from Jamaica. She asked her dad if he'd be willing to help with her dog Charlie if she and Chris could swap out dogs, keeping two at a time, in their apartment for the remaining seven weeks of the experiment.

Nicole's father offered to take Charlie to Florida with him, but the idea made Nicole cry because she would miss her furbaby so much.

However, she considered it to make Chris happy, and her dad said that he would help them out in any way possible.

"This just shows me that she's willing to do whatever it takes to make this work, and I think that's amazing because that's what I think marriage is about -- compromise, trying to help each other out, and making sacrifices," Chris told the cameras.

After Chris and Nicole talked to the show's executive producers about their dog options, the couple determined Charlie would live at Nicole's apartment with one of her family members for a few weeks while still being a part of the couple's lives.

Nicole said that after the show, she and Chris would find a place to fit all three of their dogs and have a big yard for them all to play in together.

Overall, Chris and Nicole rated their marriage an 8.2 on a scale from 1-10.

Chris said he was "blown away" by Nicole and they were having an "amazing" time together.

Nicole shared how she would've rated her first week of marriage a 10, but she realistically dropped a couple of points since she and Chris had yet to move in together in Nashville.

Nicole predicted that she and Chris were going to have some arguments and battles when combining their two busy lives together.

"Nicole is a hard-hitting New York woman... and Chris is a little bit passive. So I think she's going to take him for a ride. I do," MAFS co-star Clint Webb said of Nicole.

"I don't know about a sexual ride, but it could maybe be [that]."
