Married at First Sight star Olajuwon Dickerson has confronted Alyssa Ellman about being unwilling to spend her wedding night in the same hotel room with her new husband Chris Collette.

Alyssa appeared to keep her distance from Chris after their wedding, and she vented in confessionals about Chris seeming "immature" and how his friends had called him "condescending." She didn't seem excited about or attracted to her new husband.
Meanwhile, Chris thought the wedding was a huge success and Alyssa was incredible, although she wasn't an affectionate or particularly outgoing person.
Chris thought Alyssa would just need time to open up to him, but she had a post-wedding reception meltdown behind closed doors and told him that she wanted to sleep in separate hotel rooms, which left Chris feeling deflated and shocked.
"You don't have to sleep in the same bed," Olajuwon told Alyssa during the January 26 episode of Married at First Sight: Afterparty.
"Why would you not give it at least the opportunity of being in the same room -- to hear him out and sit down for a one-on-one conversation?"
Olajuwon firmly added, "I know it definitely broke his heart."
Alyssa replied, "So, I know that he was very upset, but I was just as upset."
"It was just in a different way," she noted.
"I came into this and wanted it to be everything I hoped and dreamed of, and I didn't get that."

Alyssa therefore said on Afterparty she didn't regret sleeping apart from Chris because she would have felt wildly uncomfortable.
During her wedding reception, Alyssa determined that Chris seemed "immature" because he had referred to himself as "Alyssa's side piece," and Chris' groomsmen rocked Alyssa's world by suggesting Chris can be opinionated, preachy and a bit argumentative when trying to help others become their best selves.
The groomsmen even made a comment about how Chris "loves to monologue," which turned Alyssa off and left her worrying about Chris' personality and character traits.
"He wouldn't normally be my type. I don't want to get upset. I don't want this on-camera," Alyssa complained.
Alyssa and Chris met up off-camera in the early morning hours to talk, and Alyssa apparently told Chris that she didn't think he was her match.
Alyssa said she and Chris are "two very different people" with extremely different hobbies and approaches to everyday life.
Chris later told Alyssa's mother and best friend Taylor what Alyssa had said about not being interested in him, and so Alyssa accused Chris on their honeymoon in Puerto Rico of betraying her confidence and disrespecting her.

Olajuwon claimed Alyssa had "indulged" in the comments Chris' groomsmen had made because "it was a leeway to get out [of the marriage]."
Once Chris voiced his frustration with Alyssa's lack of effort in their relationship and also questioned her intentions for going on Married at First Sight to begin with, Alyssa shouted on the latest Season 14 episode that she felt "gypped" in the process and she and Chris simply aren't "compatible."
"I don't want to argue anymore!" Alyssa yelled. "Why don't we just stop and say, 'This isn't going to work?' And be respectful."
Chris agreed to give Alyssa the space she wanted, but he felt she had already written him off. Chris wasn't sure whether he should try to save this marriage since it seemed Alyssa didn't like him at all.
