Married at First Sight star Paige Banks feels Chris Williams must have some serious trauma in his past if he's able and willing to disrespect his new wife in ways viewers have already seen on the show's twelfth season.

"Like trophy wives," Chris said when describing his exes or past flings.
After Paige's friend pointed out how Paige should definitely be considered a trophy wife based on her beauty alone, Chris replied, "I don't think [Paige] is a trophy wife."
On Unfiltered, host Jamie Otis -- who starred on Season 1 of Married at First Sight -- asked Paige how it felt to hear Chris say she's not a trophy wife at their wedding.
Paige paused and quietly responded with, "Yeah, there's a lot that I can take, but I wasn't anticipating that."
Paige confirmed her friends had never told her about Chris' trophy-wife comments, and Paige's Married at First Sight co-star Jacob suggested on Unfiltered, "They were probably trying to protect you."
Chris had also told Paige's bridesmaids that Paige was probably the woman he needed but didn't want.
"When you saw this air last week, were you ready to throw in the towel, or are you ready to throw in the towel now?" Jamie asked Paige, who had been hoping to be matched with a God-fearing and caring man.
"I think that someone like this, there's clearly some traumas that [Chris] is dealing with, right?" Paige reasoned.
"You need to look outside of the person at this point -- who has hurt you for you to feel like this kind of remark is okay?"

Dr. Pepper Schwartz -- who worked with fellow Married at First Sight experts Pastor Calvin Roberson and Dr. Viviana Coles to match Chris and Paige for matrimony -- then interjected, "Let me just say this reflects on [Chris], not you, [Paige]."
"I think you are beautiful," Pepper assured Paige. "And I don't think Chris understands how insulting he is. Most of us, when we say 'a trophy wife,' what we mean is someone who is very pretty with nothing else to offer."
"You know? And the fact he thinks that is a good term," Pepper continued, "is shocking to me."
Paige was asked what she thinks it would take to have a happy marriage with Chris going forward.
"Therapy and Jesus at this point," Paige confessed. "I just met this man and there's already all these different things."
Not only did Chris admit he wasn't attracted to his wife on their wedding day, but he asked Paige shocking questions about sex during their wedding dinner and also mentioned his ex-girlfriend several times throughout the evening.
Chris had been engaged to a woman just three months prior to signing up for the extreme experiment, and he even covered up a tattoo of the woman's name just a few days before getting married to Paige.
"And so, if this is something he's seriously committed to, then he will put in the necessary work to look outside of his physical eye and look into his spiritual eye," Paige explained.

Jamie said she'd love to give Paige a standing ovation for that comment.
During Wednesday night's episode of Married at First Sight's twelfth season, Chris and Paige apparently slept together twice after their wedding.
But Chris apparently disappeared in the morning for hours and later informed Paige he had "a panic attack."
"To be perfectly honest with you, I think that on paper, you are everything that I need, but I don't think the attraction is fully there yet," Chris admitted to his new wife.
Paige was shocked Chris had already formed this opinion of her considering they had only been married for about 12 hours.
"We became intimate last night and this morning," Paige revealed. "I am so confused. I have never been with a man who wants to have sex multiple times that didn't desire me or didn't find me attractive."
Paige then shared her dilemma with Chris' parents and her male friends hoping to receive some insight into her husband's mind and behavior, but that only upset Chris further and resulted in an argument.
"Going in, I wasn't planning on having sex with her, but I felt like maybe having sex with her would bring this closeness to her... maybe I would generate some type of attraction [or connection]... but I was wrong. There was nothing there," Chris told his parents.
After Chris and Paige took some time away from each other, Chris apologize for how he had acted earlier that day.
"I feel like I came across as an assh-le and I wasn't trying to. I do also owe you an apology because I think my attitude was horrible and that's not me at all," Chris said.
"I was honestly kind of checked out at that point," Paige confessed. "But we both committed to this process so many months ago, and to just kind of throw it away due to issues... would be doing us a disservice."

Chris told Paige that he was looking forward to bonding and getting to know her better.
"I don't see things getting worse at all. I hope getting away will bring us closer together. I hope this is a fresh start for our lives," Chris said in a confessional.
