Married at First Sight star Rachel has revealed how her husband Jose had dated a woman for four years without ever saying "I love you" to her, which was a major concern.

During the September 15 episode of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, Rachel watched back a Season 13 clip of a very personal conversation she had with Jose.

"You've never been in love before?" Rachel asks in the clip.
"It's been a strong 'like,'" Jose replies. "It's been a very strong 'like.' But I mean, I don't know, it's like they say, 'When you know, you know.' And that just wasn't there for me."

Jose elaborates, "It was great and all; it was a wonderful relationship. But unfortunately I couldn't get past the fact that she has kids."
"So how long were y'all together?" Rachel asks.
"It was more than, like, four years," Jose admits, causing Rachel's jaw to drop open.
Rachel proceeded to tell the cameras she was "shocked" to hear Jose has never been in love despite being in relationships that had lasted years.
"I just can't imagine how long it's going to take Jose to actually fall in love with me," Rachel says in the footage.

On Unfiltered, host Jamie Otis -- who starred on Season 1 of Married at First Sight and is still married to her match, Doug Hehner, asked Rachel what was going through her mind after that conversation with Jose.
"I'm definitely feeling confused because I'm here thinking we're definitely on that path to being in love, and I would assume if you're with someone for four years, you had a similar path," Rachel explained.
"Because I'm starting to build loving feelings and now I'm like, 'Oh, are you?!' I thought we were on the same page and now I'm like, 'Oh, we might not be on the same page!'"

Jamie asked Rachel why she thinks Jose let that four-year romance go on for so long when he wasn't in love.

"We obviously had to talk more after that, because I really needed to know exactly what happened," Rachel explained.
"And it was a long distance, and he said because he didn't see a future -- getting married and having their own kids -- he couldn't see that happening."
Rachel admitted, "But that's weird though!"
Jamie acknowledged it was "unfair to the woman" who had been dating Jose at that time.
But Rachel's Married at First Sight co-star Johnny Lam insisted Jose and Rachel's relationship is "totally different" from that past relationship Johnny had with the unidentified woman.

"The circumstances are totally different and y'all are ramping up differently," Johnny suggested.
"Right now, I'm totally invested and just going with what I'm feeling and everything and just hoping he's there too," Rachel said.
Well, Rachel apparently had nothing to worry about.
Because, as shown on the latest episode of Married at First Sight, Rachel and Jose expressed their mutual feelings for each other.
On Day 21 of marriage, Rachel revealed she and Jose had said, "I love you," to one another while watching television on the couch the night before.
It therefore only took three weeks for Jose to fall in love with Rachel when his past relationship never got to that point at all.
Rachel and Jose appear to have the strongest relationship on Married at First Sight's thirteenth season, which currently airs on Wednesday nights at 8PM ET/PT on Lifetime, but they still have obstacles to overcome such as their opposing views on how to handle their finances and spending.
Married at First Sight also stars Johnny and Bao, Gil Cuero and Myrla Feria, Brett and Ryan, and Zack and Michaela.
