During the Unfiltered episode that aired Tuesday night on Lifetime, Tristan opened up about his hopes for marriage in light of the couple's mutual decision to try to make things work long-term.
"I'm hoping that she can just keep her promises -- these weaknesses and walkouts and all of this other good stuff -- if some of this happens again, like, I'm out. Done," Tristan explained to Married at First Sight: Unfiltered host Jamie Otis.
The eight-week experiment proved to be very challenging for Mia and Tristan, who had a tumultuous romance. Not only did Mia get arrested early in the season on stalking charges, but she also once disappeared during a mini-moon with Tristan and threatened divorce before leaving.
"There's no more excuses, there's no more grace or any of that. You know, we're married! We need to talk through things," Tristan said of his expectations going forward.
Tristan, however, struggled to forgive and forget during his journey on Married at First Sight with Mia.
Mia would accuse Tristan of not listening to her, talking over her, and making decisions without consultation. Mia also vented about how Tristan didn't appreciate the sacrifices she was making for him, such as moving to Houston, TX, for his career.

The couple's co-star, Dave Flaherty, admitted on Unfiltered he was surprised to hear that Tristan and Mia decided to stay married based on his knowledge of their ups and downs.
"It seemed to me they were at a place they couldn't come back from. So I was surprised," Dave noted.
"I think they both bounced back from [Mia's arrest] pretty quickly, right?. They both committed to it and both committed to getting over it. It was stuff that happened after that that was a bigger deal to me."

Jamie then asked Tristan whether he was optimistic about his marriage going forward.
"I'm always optimistic! Come on now!" Tristan said with a laugh. "I know this hasn't been the best, but I want to work. I want to see this through and I want to be all that I can be."
Married at First Sight's Season 7 reunion special will air next Tuesday night on Lifetime, and each couple will discuss the current status of their relationship.

According to Dallas County court records, Mia ultimately filed for divorce from Tristan on September 4 in Dallas, TX.
"The marriage has become insupportable due to discord or conflict of personalities that destroys the legitimate ends of the marital relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation," Mia's attorney Bruce Kaye stated in a copy of the Dallas County court filing obtained by Radar Online.
Although the phrasing may sound ominous, insupportability is the basis upon which Texas courts grant the vast majority of the state's divorce cases.
While the party seeking the divorce must still prove the marriage is insupportable, insupportability is considered a "no-fault" divorce basis, which means a divorce can be granted without proof that one party was at fault for the breakup of the marriage, or identifying the source of the conflict.
