Marvita Washington may have wanted to win America's Next Top Model, however the show's judging panel didn't feel that desire was on display.

As a result, the 23-year-old in retail sales from San Francisco, CA became the fourth contestant eliminated from America's Next Top Model's tenth season during last night's broadcast of The CW reality series.

"I see myself in a different light now.  I just don't want to go back to the hood and all that.  I want a better life for myself," said Marvita after her ouster was revealed.  "I overcame just my fear of doing what I love most -- just my fear of believing in myself, my fear of thinking I was pretty, my fear of everything.  This has been one of the biggest experiences of my life.  I'm happy to have gotten this opportunity... I'm just going to keep knocking on doors until somebody answers."

Top Model's fourth tenth-season episode began Claire, a 24-year-old production coordinator from New York, NY, describing Marvita as a "crazy hood rat."

"I'm like the runaway bride -- I can't never stay with nobody -- I've got to go!" exclaimed Marvita.  "I spent most of my time growing up having to hustle and trying to be hard.  I feel like no one really can connect with me on that same level... I have been molested and raped.  I don't trust people."

"I think there's a model inside Marvita, but she has a lot of exterior layers that hides it," commented Claire.

Whitney, a 20-year-old student from Atlantic Beach, FL, also commented on how she's the tenth-installment's token plus-size model.

"I'm plus sized.  Say what you want about me -- I don't care -- I'm Whitney," she boasted.  "I have curves because I don't look like a little boy!  I love that about myself.  Last week I was called second at panel, and that was great.  It really boosted my confidence."

The 10 remaining contestants then traveled to an old warehouse, where they were met by posing instructor Benny Ninja and Scandinavian supermodel Vendela.  Benny and Vendela taught the contestants the three C's of posing -- commercial, catwalk and couture -- before each of the girls demonstrated their moves.

Back at the loft, some cattiness erupted between Whitney and Dominique, a 23-year-old receptionist from Columbus, OH.  Dominique missed her time slot to use the phone and thought it should have been Whitney's responsibility to relay the message to her.  Whitney said she has no respect for Dominique and attacked her lack of education.  Dominique countered by calling Whitney a "big brick wall who's racist to everyone and anyone."

"Call me a bitch, yeah, probably," said Whitney.  "But don't call me racist.  I'm from the South.  You don't joke about being racist.  It's not funny."

The girls then arrived in Brooklyn, where they were once again met by Benny and Vendela.  Benny explained the girls would be split in two groups for a posing battle.  The girls would compete one-on-one using the three C's, and the group that scored the most points would be allowed to pillage a "swag shop" containing various free gifts.

The first team consisted of Dominique; Aimee, an 18-year-old hostess from Spanaway, WA; Anya, a 19-year-old in retail sales from Honolulu, HI; Fatima, a 22-year-old student from Boston, MA; and Lauren, a 22-year-old artist from Brooklyn, NY, while the second group consisted of Claire; Marvita; Whitney; Katarzyna, a 22-year-old in finance from Roslyn, NY; and Stacy Ann, a 22-year-old student from Miami, FL.

The second team won with the help of Claire, Kat, Whitney and Stacy Ann.  Claire was deemed the best poser on her team, and received the additional reward of a free trip to Bora Bora.

After the winning girls claimed their free swag, Fatima practiced her posing back at the loft and criticized Marvita -- who was drinking a 40 and having a good time with goofing around with Lauren.

"Marvita, she's a child," said Fatima.  "She talks ghetto, she acts ghetto.  Everything she does is just ghetto.  She's just so thug. There are a lot of girls that are not in the house to become models, and that's Marvita."

The 10 remaining contestants then met Top Model art director Jay Manuel for their fourth photo shoot, which would be a really tight shot focused on their face with a "little fashion edge" in the form of colorful paint being splattered all over them.  Peter Buckingham would serve as the shoot's photographer.

Before the shoot commenced, Jay caught Marvita sitting in the corner wearing a hat, huge sunglasses and having her turtleneck pulled up over her face.  When he approached her, Marvita mumbled about her poor performance during the previous shoot.

"I don't want that to defeat you and take you down," Jay told her. 

The shoot commenced, and Whitney was the first to have a problem when she was awkwardly placing her hand on her neck and kept opening and closing her mouth.

"I still think she's a little uncomfortable with her features," commented Jay.  "She doesn't realize Whitney has that effortless, timeless beauty."

After Fatima had her shoot and Jay commented she "struggled with her over-analytical nature," Marvita was the last girl to go.  It didn't go very well and she looked visibly disinterested.

"To me it looks like Marvita has checked out of the competition," commented Jay.  "She's either over it or too intimidated by it.  Her photo shoot -- in my opinion -- was a disaster."

Back at the loft, the girls prepared for the impending judging panel.

"I don't want to go home," said Marvita.  "I'm just hoping that [Top Model creator and lead judge Tyra Banks] sees something different and I want this."

The 10 girls then arrived for Top Model's fourth tenth-season judging panel, where they'd be critiqued by Tyra; runway expert J. "Ms. J." Alexander; photographer Nigel Barker; supermodel Paulina Porizkova; and Vendela.

Fatima was the first to receive some criticism for her shoot -- but it was only because her armpit hair was showing in the photograph.  Fatima revealed she doesn't shave her armpits, which prompted some advice from Paulina.

"It's the only job in the world that pretty much just requires you to show-up clean and shaved for a lot of money," she said.

Whitney was also criticized for looking "self conscious" in the shoot, and Vendela questioned her seriousness.  When it was Marvita's turn, Tyra said her attitude at the shoot got back to the judges.

"You looked -- when you walked over -- just kind of like defeated," said Tyra.  "I've gotten word back that you don't seem invested at all in the competition."

"I really want this and everything," said Marvita.

Tyra liked the "emotion" of her photo, however some of the other judges thought Marvita looked a little too sad.

The judges then began to deliberate, and Ms. J said Marvita "seems almost as though she's uncomfortable now standing here in front of us."  Nigel added she's "not even close to 100%."

"I feel like Marvita is giving up on the competition before it gives up on her," said Tyra.

Paulina thought Whitney has a "fabulous face," but is also becoming "a little dull."

"I think Whitney has a lot going for her," said Nigel.  "She's different and she represents a section of the modeling industry that we really see."

With deliberations over, Tyra revealed Stacy Ann, Dominique, Claire, Anya, Lauren, Aimee, Kat and Fatima were all safe.

Tyra said both Whitney and Marvita were in the bottom two for "similar reasons" -- that they "both don't seem that invested in this competition."  While Tyra added both have "potential," she said it takes more than that to be successful and they need to learn throughout the competition.

"What you may be feeling inside -- both of you, is 'I want this.  I want this so bad,'" said Tyra.  "But it's not just about what you feel inside, it's what you evoke."

She then revealed Whitney was safe and Marvita was given the boot.

"We thought you gave up Marvita," said Tyra.  "You have to learn to bring forth what's inside."
