NBC’s new relationship reality series “Meet My Folks” soared in its special 10-11 p.m. ET preview Monday evening, achieving the highest adult 18-49 rating for any reality series this summer and the highest rating for any non-sports telecast since May.

For the night, the powerful “Meet My Folks” preview helped boost NBC to the highest non-sports 18-49 rating for any network on any night since the May sweep. It’s NBC’s 15th victory among adults 18-49 in the last 16 Monday nights. “Meet My Folks’” 5.5 rating among adults 18-49 tops results for any episode this summer of Fox’s “American Idol,” CBS’ “Big Brother,” Fox’s “30 Seconds to Fame” or any other reality series. The last non-sports telecast on any network to deliver a higher rating was the May 30 edition of CBS’ “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” It’s also the highest preview or premiere rating for any summer series since “Spy TV” launched in June 2001 with a 6.6 rating.

According to updated in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research, Monday’s 10-11 p.m. ET preview of “Meet My Folks” (5.5 rating, 16 share among adults 18-49, 11.0 million viewers) beat the combined time period competition among adults 18-49 (5.5/16 vs. the combined ABC-CBS score of 5.2/15). Among adults 18-34, Monday’s “Meet My Folks” preview defeated the combined competition by more than 50 percent (6.1/19 vs. the combined ABC-CBS score of 3.7/11). NBC’s newest reality series won its hour in virtually all key demographics and total viewers.




Meet My Folks” debuts in its regular time period this Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
