Michael Sanchez advanced from The Voice's "Battle Round" to the "Knockout Round" as a member of Alicia Keys' team.

Alicia paired Michael with Dave Moisan for a performance of "Valerie." Alicia gushed about how both men are the only artists on the show to play multiple instruments and they have special qualities in their voices that set them apart from the competition.

"You just do the best that you can out there and then whatever happens, happens," Michael told reporters in a conference call.

Michael discussed how his stress levels tend to change the further he advances in the competition.

When asked if it gets easier with more show experience, Michael explained, "For me, I feel like the moments before are always the tough ones, you know, the buildup, all of the waiting. I guess you know, the days before are the hard ones."

Michael said everything changes once he's ready to step onstage and perform.

"The moments before -- right before it happens, and when it's happening, I feel like all of that goes away and all of the sudden, 'Hey, I'm here, I'm going to put it all out on the stage and do the best I can,' and then I have a lot of comfort from that," the artist said.

"So the buildup is hard for me, but during it, I feel like the stress is all gone."

Although Alicia chose to keep Michael on her team, Dave was stolen by coach Adam Levine, who had been interested in Dave from the start due to his awesome falsetto.

The guys' executed a memorable Battle together because they switched off playing the piano.

"Dave and I had kind of joked about that beforehand, and then [Alicia] said, 'Oh okay, let's do it.' So I think we were really excited about it, but there was definitely some hesitation in the background to of can they do that? Can we kind of pull this off?" Michael admitted.

"And I remember Dave and I, we got a piano at the hotel room in my room and then we just practiced over and over and over so we could get it down. It is kind of hard to trade off the piano and have a mic and do what we did."

But Michael was certain that with a lot of practice, the performance could turn out great.

"We showed [Alicia and our team adviser Charlie Puth], and they loved it. So, I was really happy with how it turned out. I thought it looked really -- it was really a fun little thing to do but yes, I enjoyed it," Michael said.
