Miley Cyrus didn't hold back discussing her feelings about Mariah Carey in a recent interview.
The 23-year-old singer and new "The Voice" coach admitted in the October issue of Elle that she's never been drawn to Carey because she thinks the 46-year-old superstar is self-involved.
"I've never really been a fan, because it's so much about Mariah Carey. That's part of her shtick; I can see through that," Cyrus told the magazine.
"Like, it's about Mimi! It's about what she's wearing, and it's about her," she elaborated.
"What I make isn't about me. It's about sharing my story; it's about someone being connected to what I'm saying."
Cyrus had nothing but praise, however, for fellow singer and Disney Channel alum Britney Spears.
She revealed she and the 34-year-old star have "stayed close" because they work with the same manager.
"I just want Britney to be happy," the "Wrecking Ball" singer said.
"Every time she puts out new music, I'm like, 'Is that what she wants to be doing? Or does she just want to chill?' She's looking so good right now, and looking happy."

Cyrus explained she believes that self-promotion is incompatible with being a true artist.
She had voiced her support for Corey Feldman last week after the singer faced backlash for his "Today" show performance.
"Thank you and your angels for sharing your music with us! Please enjoy life and continue to make art! You're absolutely right to ignore (even though it can be hard) the hurtful comments made by uninspired people!" the star wrote on Instagram.
"Good luck to you and always dream big! I know that's what always keeps me smiling," she added.
Cyrus last released the album Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz in 2015.
She currently serves as a coach on "The Voice" Season 11 and will star on Woody Allen's Amazon series "Crisis in Six Scenes."
