For the first time in the Miss America Pageant's 87-year history fans will be able to select one of the competition's finalists via an online competition that will allow home viewers to vote for their favorite 2008 Miss America contestant.  Voting will coincide with Miss America: Reality Check, commencing on Friday, January 4 immediately after the show's premiere and ending Saturday, January 26 at 3AM ET after the show's finale.

During TLC's live two-hour broadcast of the 2008 Miss America Pageant from Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on Saturday, January 26 at 8PM ET, the contestant with the most home-viewer votes who is not already included as one of the 15 finalists as chosen by the judges will be selected as "America's Choice" and continue in the competition.

"As viewers watch Miss America: Reality Check they'll get to know the contestants in a way that they never have before," said Angela Shapiro-Mathes, TLC's president and general manager. "The entire competition becomes more relevant to today's audience as they vote and root for their favorites at the live finale."

Miss America: Reality Check will follow the 52 hopefuls as they live together under one roof, and participate in numerous events and challenges geared towards preparing them for the main event. Throughout their journey, the girls' progress will be critiqued by celebrity stylist Jeanie Mae; Us Weekly editor Dina Sansing; and celebrity photographer Mark Middell.
