Once they arrive in Hollywood, the group will have to balance their desire to try to pursue everything that Hollywood has to offer with the need to "keep true to themselves and their southern ways" and finish their new "Last 2 Talk" album. If all goes well, the group hopes to put the "hood into Hollywood."
Three 6 Mafia's beginnings date back to the early '90s, when the group's members began releasing underground mix tapes in Memphis. Three 6 Mafia officially debuted in 1995 with their album "Mystic Stylz" and although its roster has changed several times over the years, the ensemble has since released numerous gold and platinum albums.
In March 2006, DJ Paul and Juicy J won an Academy Award for "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp," an original song they wrote for Hustle & Flow. Their win marked the the first time that a hip-hop group won the Oscar for Best Original Song.
Adventures in Hollywood is being executive produced by Rod Aissa, Kevin Lee and Melanie Graham and Katalyst Films' Ashton Kutcher, Jason Goldberg and Karey Burke. Aaron Rosenberg and Three 6 Mafia are co-executive producers. Aissa, Rosenberg and Three 6 Mafia developed the series.
